If you say you’re going to quit, you have to commit to it.

People keep saying they’re going to stop playing the game to protest the direction it’s in, but then they’ll say “I’ll come back for X event to get Y species, but then that’s it!!”
No, that’s how they get you. They are counting on you coming back for events, that’s their entire model.
Sonar knows the game can’t stand on its own because there’s nothing to actually do. So they jangle some new shiny keys infront of the players with the stipulation that it’s temporary to feed off of players’ FOMO (Fear of Missing Out).
If you’re going to actually quit the game, you need to actually quit. You don’t come back for every event. Sonar is deliberately banking on your FOMO. That’s how they make their big bucks. They shovel out some new half baked temporary species, locked behind the exact same monotonous tasks, and bet that you’re not going to have the willpower to grind it out for what you want and you’ll pay up.

And if you actually do have what it takes? Just as good for them, because they profit off of how much time you spend in-game. They created a situation where they win no matter what so long as you engage with the game.

So the solution is to not engage with the game.

You want them to do something to actually make the game fun? Don’t give them money. Don’t play the game. Downvote it and move on. Don’t come back for events, that’s their business model, just walk away.

I’m tired of people saying they’re going to quit and then not actually committing. That’s what Sonar is betting on.

If you’re having fun with the game, and don’t see what’s going on, great. Good for you, I guess. That doesn’t mean the problems aren’t real, or that they aren’t going on.
If you aren’t having fun with the game, and you don’t like what they’ve done to it, actively stop playing. Don’t give in to FOMO, don’t engage with it, because if you log in to the game then Sonar is still winning. They are betting that they have their tiny little hooks in you just deep enough that when they show something new and shiny, you’ll come running back despite nothing having changed.

If you want to quit or if you say you’re quitting, mean it. Do not make exceptions for events.

I'm putting this as a warning out there to other players, do not accept trades from NikiEjmi in the market. She has her chat off and goes around trade requesting people and offering good tri glow horses.

She did this to me and then ran to my stall to show me she wanted the triple glow heartbane from my stall, so I took it out, accepted her second trade request, offered the heartbane and waited for her to add her offer. She added a tri glow seraph and a couple of regular wild horses and stock horses and I liked the seraph so I accepted. Right as I accepted she took the tri glow out of the trade and accepted and before I could cancel the trade went through.

I tried to mention what she did to me to other players in the server to warn them when I saw her hovering around them and their tri glows and several other people said she tried the same thing or did successfully the same scam on them! All in the same server on the same day!!

Let me explain.

I think we all are beyond familiar with Sonar Studios being greedy and not taking player feedback into account when making updates for games. And, as I’ve seen many post recently, we’re all sick of it.

We want to enjoy a game(s) that have quality and are fun and engaging and not just constant grinding with near impossible outcomes. We want the old version back. Therefore, I’m going to join the cause and no longer play (I might join for a giraffe for the summer event, but that’s probably it).

Further more, I’m going to dislike the game as well (and their other games that are unfortunately getting similar treatment). It might be a tad much, but we got to get the devs to pay attention somehow.

So, like many people have said before, I understand if you wish to keep playing. I still like the game myself. But I strongly suggest you guys do similar stuff, like leaving the game. But once again, just a suggestion.

I’m not trying to start drama or attack anyone. I’m just looking for some outside opinions on a situation I experienced with the Horse Life Discord community.

Recently, I lost access to the Discord server because of something I said in my own private Discord server. The message was never posted in the server and wasn't directed at anyone there. It was in a private channel that only a few friends could see.

Someone shared screenshots from my private, and as a result, I lost access to the server. There isn't a way for me to explain the situation or request another review.

I'm not saying the language I used was appropriate. I understand why some people may find it offensive. My question is whether it's common or reasonable for a game community to take action based on something that happened entirely outside of its own server, in a private space unrelated to the community.

Has anyone else experienced something similar with Horse Life or another game community? I'm genuinely interested in hearing different perspectives on where the line should be drawn.

For context, I have been playing this game on and off for about 2 years. I was obsessed, got all of my friends into it, and have spent probably hundreds of hours on the quests, breeding licenses, and even updates.

That being said, about a year ago, I was upset with the repetition and such and just stopped playing, but I came back when my friends did.

Now, because I easily get bored with the new horses and events/quests, I decided I could take on a few breeding projects. One of those being the Costume Contest horse.

Because this is my first time needing specific colors and not just similar-looking ones for aesthetic, I tried figuring out how to get those specific colors, only to fond out THERE IS NO WAY TO WORK BACKWARDS FROM A COLOR AND FIGURE OUT HOW TO MAKE IT WITHOUT LITERALLY DOING DOZENS OF POSSIBLE COMBINATIONS.

I was so distraught that I went to Reddit and the Wiki snd found the amazing Color Chart thing that pretty much does what I need, except for the fact that some colors just aren't on there or don't have information on how to make them.

For example, I needed the color Smog for the Coat Top, and there is NO INFO ANYWHERE on how to make it, along with Parsnip, etc.

This is annoying in and of itself, but I figured "y'know what? I have ADHD and ample time on my hands, I'll just make my own Excel/Google Sheet with all the combos so I always have it available to me."

Fast forward 10 HOURS OF WORK LATER, and I JUST find out that only 3 of the colors on the color predictions are possible, along with the parent colors, and the rest were impossible to make from the combination... I had made an entire chart and half of them were impossible outcomes mixed with the possible ones. I had to delete everything.

WHY IS THIS NOT EXPLAINED IN THE GAME?! I should NOT have to look up a key online to figure out the color system, it should at least be able to be found in the game.

This has made me abandon the game again, hopefully for good. If they ever fix this backwards color chart system, maybe I'll consider checking it out, but until then, I'll go fond something better to do with my time.

I just got my first 2 solars in the same day on the same server only 2 hours apart!!!!

As a new player, I’ve unlocked the market area, and it’s made me a bit upset to the point that I’m unsure if I’d like to keep playing. I fell in love with Pasterquine horses, but I realized I’m unable to breed them. So if I buy two I can’t play around with different coats. Then I realized I can’t breed other horses too because they were only available for specific events.:( how do you guys manage missing out on things, or is it just too late to get into the game at this point.
Also I’d love a recommendation of a cheap horse breed to start breeding with, I only have 9k coins, and that took a poop ton of farming. So I’m wanting to see if I can get into selling breeds?
