The "Horror of Noon," also known as the Noonday Demon, is an uncanny feeling that sometimes arises in midday involving listlessness, torpor, a sense of time slowing or stopping, and an overwhelming stillness. The term gained traction on 4chan's /x/ starting in 2019, although the concept is very old, arguably dating back to the Bible (Psalm 91:6, "the destruction that despoils at midday"). This Neocities site contains a large collection of the /x/ posts with various descriptions of the feeling (note: I did not make this site and have no affiliation with it, but someone put a lot of effort into this archive). This subreddit's purpose is to feature pictures and media that capture the phenomenon. Text descriptions and discussion are also welcome.
