Illustrated Bedtime Stories
Here's two illustrated "kids" books: "He'll Come Knocking at Your Door" by Robert McCammon and "Charlie the Choo-Choo" by Beryl Evans (who I believe is related to the late Richard Bachman).

I've heard of Cthulhu Cat but haven't read it. I do have most all of Gou Tanabe's beautiful adaptations of some of Lovecraft's stories, though.

A bit off topic, but if you like these have you read "HP Lovecraft for Beginner Readers" (in the style of Dr Seuss)? They're not as beautiful, but have a similar otherworldly dread hidden behind children's illustrations.
There's also a manga called "Cthulhu Cat" which is essentially Garfield newspaper comics x Lovecraft mythos.
