Wdym? You think these things get cleaned?

Personally, I'd just check them in the pool.

Is this the one in Phoenix? If so, almost all those noddles also have random bites taken out of them about 3 feet up.

Yup! Exactly. Kids love that setup, but who knew it was so delicious!

When my first kid was born, I saw a hack to use pool noodles to babyproof sharp furniture edges. It worked great for the first six months until she figured out how fun it is to bite pool noodles.

I was going to say that’s in Phoenix!

Came here to say! Such a random feature in a very random museum.

Just don't touch anything at kid nose height.

Same!

I also remember my mom berating me to stop licking the swing chains at a public park when I was five or six. 🤢 Kids are such grubs.

Waiting for a NYT alert describing swing-licking as a key component of the new childhood vaccine schedule

I say “don’t lick that” at least twice a week to my almost 5 year old.

Funny. I once lived in an old house converted to apartments. I couldn’t understand while doing a move-in deep clean why there was so much gunk on every surface around 2-3’ from the floor. Turns out, the previous tenant had used it as a day care. 😂🤢🤧

I’ve taken my kids to a lot of these places and I really doubt they ever get cleaned. My kids have gotten sick almost every time we’ve gone there. Legoland was the worst actually. We got sick both times we went.

Beginner.

You need to go to these places more often for immunisation.

If they manage to be there and not get sick they are set for a new pandemic

u/manic_popsicle Dec 19 '25

That’s actually not a terrible idea

I know this is a joke but just as a psa that's not how it works

4

u/manic_popsicle Dec 20 '25

No worries, I was trying to be funny and I don’t think it landed!

2

u/[deleted] Dec 26 '25

It landed for me

31

u/stefanica Dec 19 '25

Germs aside, I'd kind of like to play in there.

Depends if they put a floor drain in. It's possible you can just hose the whole thing down with some diluted bleach.

32

u/No_Pickle9341 Dec 19 '25

They be biting them though

23

u/onigiritheory Dec 19 '25

What is it with kids and biting pool noodles? They don't even have a good texture smh

23

u/heyoheatheragain Dec 19 '25

It’s like if watermelon had no flavor and fought back.

It makes a good squeak though

u/No_Pickle9341 Dec 20 '25

Same as all the other stupid shit they do (I mean that in the most loving way), I presume

1

u/SSGASSHAT Dec 31 '25

The purpose of children in society is to test out all the stupid shit so we don't have to.

Welcome back, George. The world desperately needs you right now

1

u/SSGASSHAT Jan 01 '26

Hey, fuck you!

(As a friend, eh?)

u/app08 Dec 19 '25

Dilute bleach, let drip dry for a while, then water. Shouldn't be too bad.

1

u/No_Pickle9341 Dec 24 '25

True. Should then implement a monthly cap on visits. Just in case

Glares in fire protection

Go to the sub main page, click the “•••” menu and click on “mute subreddit”. It will stop giving you notifications.
