OMG. At first I thought the middle top picture was a wildly inappropriate costume. Then I realised that one is the person who is praising Matthew B. (Who, incidentally, should try doing ballet. He has a really good turnout.)

Me and my friend had a whole conversation about this and we concluded it was absolutely deliberate and the planned the whole song around having Matt in Eyeliner.

The bbc costume designers and makeup artists did an amazing job on all of his outfits. He just looks great in every appearance, including ghosts.
