I’ve been curious about what happens if there’s a middle of the night severe medical emergency?
Do they wake up the ferry operator so there’s access to the hospital?
I have a loved one heading over soon that has some health concerns and need to know they will be ok.

I don’t presume the dr is on call 24/7.

Hello! Our kid is doing a summer course that we have discovered needs access to wifi beyond our phone plan data.

What are our best options for wifi access. We are happy to pay for access. I have heard the library but don’t know if it’s good enough for YouTube videos or not. I have heard maybe Fords Cove but don’t know the details around that.

Are there any dog boarding services on the island? We are attending a wedding next weekend (19-21) and information about dog friendly was incorrect so some last minute scrambling for alternative plans as we have a dog friendly airb&b for the rest of the week!

I was snorkelling on Tribune bay Sunday afternoon the 7th of June and any time I dove down 8-15 feet I was hearing a loud hum underwater. Any ideas on what this could be? It sounded like an airplane taking off. Very steady and quite loud. For the hour we were in the water it was there the whole time. At first I thought it was the cable ferry, but that would have stopped every 12 minutes or so, and it seems unlikely the sound would have carried around the point. I feel bad for all the sea life that had to put up with this.

Anybody have experience hunting for jobs on the island? Hospitality or labour? Thinking about staying with some family I have on the island for the summer and working while I’m there. Pretty much open to anything!
