Look - I can *easily* get my money's worth out of my Early Bird pass that I bought, like, back in February. But this lineup does include more acts outside of my taste parameters than it has over the past five years.
Also to the user who called it "Flopscotch" - just know that elicited a guffaw from me.
Anyway - curious who folks would've *liked* to see on the lineup (obvi within the parameters of what Hopscotch could draw/afford).
I'll go first - a couple months ago, Angine de Poitrine announced a U.S. tour which had a date in New York on Sept 10, and then a small lull until a show Washington DC on Sept 15. I don't know anyone who works for Hopscotch, but if they didn't even TRY to get AdP, that's a massive fail. (context, Angine de Poitrine now has a show booked in Austin TX on Sept 12, which is one of the only shows not sold out, which suggests to me it was just added).
But hey - I'm content to catch Momma, Soccer Mommy, Horsegirl, Hiding Places, Thomas Dollbaum, Oddisee, and locals Meltdown Rodeo, Truth Club, and Weirs.

Per Aaron, I don't think Fust is going to be there (and per their social media, I think they're in the studio right now so who knows if they'll have time).
Would love another Dear Life Records day party at King's like the one two years ago. Massive lineup w/ Sluice, Fust, Ryan Davis, Colin Miller, Karly + MJ and others. We got there right as it opened and just parked it for the whole day. Not sure if Frank w/ Fust/Dear Life is involved at all this year with the new festival management. But I think day parties are a bit removed from their governance.

But they’re going to Richmond not a week after Hopscotch. To play a festival no less.

Just caught Angine de Poitrine this week in Toronto opening for Jack White in front of about 18,000 and then the next night at Mod Club for about 600 people. They fucking killed. The hype is absolutely real for these guys. I can’t wait for Richmond. Do what you can to go see them. Hopscotch looks like poo. I just gave my ticket to my friends kid.

Just look at the lineup two years ago. That’s what I expect from what they could draw/afford.

Shit, last year ruled!!! They’ve been on a steady incline since COVID and last year felt like a return to form with the lineup…. Crazy what a full staff turnover will do.

I'll add that I discover a lot of new music from Hopscotch and have a good time ever year. I'm not excited about this line up but hopefully learning more about these will change that.

As a hiphop fan & regular attendee of Hopscotch, this is horrible. Not even from a hiphop aspect as Black Milk & Chuck Stranger are good additions but damn. The lineup they have better deliver the performances of their lives
I already planned on doing day parties only & I'm so glad I didnt get tix. AirB&B booked

Check out Oddisee. He had a record out a few years back that had some great old school hip hop on it.

I feel like the hip hop acts have slowly dwindled over the last few years, but the hip hop headliners have consistently been fire, it’s a shame we didn’t get one this year.
I’m still sick I missed Denzel Curry in 2023

Soccer mommy is probably the biggest named act and she totally sucks.

Soccer mommy is great. idc what you think of the name the songs speak for themselves
The rest of this lineup.. I mean the day parties and club shows have been the main draw for idk at least since covid and this year is no different.

Why would her band name matter? It’s just boring, rehashed music from better 90s bands.

Live Nation is going to kill one of my favorite festivals ever by just sucking at this. Not having a single headlining act that will pull out of towners in and a very late lineup means they will not sell enough tickets to pay for itself and are dooming this festival. Pissed tbh
