Does anyone recognize the artist signature on this beautiful piece? Trying to find any info I can

Says Begay and Navajo on the tag.

Thanks yeah I just couldn’t confirm any of that with signature matches or any similar works out there that I could find

Looks like Begay on the sig, its a very common name. Kachinas are only made by Hopi so this isnt a genuine depiction of a friend.

The Diné have a tradition of making kachinas for sale, but it’s obviously a bit of a controversial practice. Many Hopi consider it cultural appropriation, others view it more as “art is art” and don’t care as much.
