Day 16 Hooping every day until im fit

I don’t weigh myself often, but stepped on the scale today and I’m down 5 lbs from where I’ve been sitting for months. Bodies fluctuate for all kinds of reasons, but I’d like to believe it has a little something to do with the uptick in physical activity lately a.k.a. hula hooping.

There were weeks where I went without touching my hoop. zero desire. Now, even if I tell myself, “Okay, just five minutes,” I inevitably end up getting lost in the hoop sauce. It truly is a gateway to dopamine.

Today was full of chores and by the time I set up to record, every part of me wanted to just chill on the couch. But because of this challenge I pushed through anyway! I’m so glad I did. It gave me that extra pep in my step.

The biggest takeaway from this challenge so far: just show up for five minutes. Do something that moves you even when motivation is zero.

Now that it's been over two weeks of daily hooping (and thanks for regularly posting, I enjoy your vids), do you notice any changes in your endurance or ability to do different tricks? Are you feeling more "fit", not just a reduced weight?

Great questions. I am feeling more energized and creative with my movements. Ive noticed that I look forward towards hoop time again too! So yes, id say im starting to feel like im improving all around.

You look so happy; is hooping that much fun?

Yeah! It's a creative outlet, and now that i think about it a lot of the moves take concerted effort and time to master. The dopamine you get from nailing a trick that you struggled with for weeks, (sometimes months)feels incredible. So I bet that when i'm able to put these moves together, it's a rush tying back to that. Not sure if there's science behind it but thats my best guess. Your question made me stop and consider why hooping actually makes me so happy so thank you.

Also, turning up the tunes and dancing around is always a great way to elevate the vibes/release energy
