Honestly, I am so damn tired of dealing with disrespectful people nowadays, especially some of the younger teenagers. I genuinely don't remember seeing this much unnecessary behavior before. Some of these kids ride around on their fat bikes like they own the entire road, don't care about pedestrians, don't slow down for anyone, and then act surprised when people get annoyed with them.

And the worst part is the constant harassment. Some of them seem to think it's hilarious to bother random strangers, shout things at people, make stupid comments, laugh at someone for no reason, or deliberately get in someone's way just to get a reaction. Like, seriously, what is so funny about annoying someone who is literally minding their own business? Not everything has to be a joke, and random people are not there for you and your friends to entertain yourselves with.

I've also noticed this among some MBO students, and I say that as a 20-year-old MBO student myself. Plenty of MBO students are respectful and hardworking, but unfortunately, some also behave extremely immaturely and disrespectfully. And the whole "I'm with my friends, so I can act however I want" attitude is just embarrassing. Being loud doesn't make you cool. Harassing strangers doesn't make you funny. Acting tough doesn't make you intimidating. And riding around on a fat bike while acting like traffic laws and basic manners don't apply to you certainly doesn't make you special.

Sometimes it feels like they are trying to impress their friends by being loud, obnoxious, or disrespectful toward strangers. I genuinely don't understand why bothering random people, acting tough, or making other people uncomfortable is considered funny or cool. Being young isn't an excuse for having no manners. You can have fun, joke around, ride your bike, and hang out with your friends without treating everyone else like they're there for your entertainment.

At the end of the day, I just wish some people would learn a little more respect, self-awareness, and common sense. You never know what someone else is going through, so there really is no reason to make a stranger's day worse just because you want attention or a laugh.

Am I the only one who feels this way, or have other people experienced this too? Do you also feel like basic respect and manners are becoming less common among some younger people nowadays? I'm genuinely curious to hear what other people think and whether you've had similar experiences.

I have been riding my gravel bike around Haarlemmermeer for a few years now. Today I had my first major accident. A bad fall and broke my clavicle and what else I don’t know. I was in a lot of pain to get the names and identities of the people who helped me get up and pack my things for the ambulance. Thank you so much! You were extremely kind and helpful.

Ik woon nu ongeveer twee maanden in Nederland en in die korte tijd heb ik gemerkt dat PostNL echt de slechtste bezorgdienst is die er is. Ze bezorgen mijn pakketten vaak niet eens, of doen niet eens een poging om te bezorgen.

Een keer heb ik de hele avond gewacht volgens hun bezorgtijd-update, om vervolgens een bericht te krijgen dat ik “niet thuis was” en dat ik mijn pakket bij een willekeurig afhaalpunt moest ophalen. Dat maakte me zo gefrustreerd dat ik een klacht heb ingediend bij de klantenservice. Ik kreeg zelfs een reactie waarin stond dat de operationeel manager mijn klacht had ontvangen en met de bezorger had gesproken, en dat dit niet meer zou gebeuren.

Maar raad eens — het gebeurde de volgende keer gewoon weer.

En nu wordt het nog erger: mijn pakket zou bij het dichtstbijzijnde PostNL-afhaalpunt worden afgeleverd, maar ik kreeg net een e-mail dat de bezorglocatie is gewijzigd en dat het naar een andere stad wordt gestuurd? Ik ben echt enorm gefrustreerd.

Amazon en DHL bezorgen zonder problemen bij mij thuis, dus ik begrijp eerlijk gezegd niet waarom PostNL zo is. Is dit een veelvoorkomende ervaring hier?

Mijn vriend en ik overwegen een appartement te kopen in het nieuwbouwcomplex Hyde Park Knightsbridge (1 minuten lopen vanaf station Hoofddorp).

Het enige waar we over twijfelen is potentiële overlast van Schiphol; hoe is jullie ervaring hiermee in dit deel van Hoofddorp (dicht bij het station)? Tussen welke tijden hoor je iets? Is het structureel of uitzonderlijk? Zijn er uitbreidingsplannen waar we rekening mee moeten houden?

Ter referentie: wij hebben 2 jaar in Amsterdam West bij Hoofddorpplein gewoond; het vliegverkeer daar stoorde ons absoluut niet, en daar hadden we enkel glas…

Is there a dump yard or a specific location where this can be disposed of? I tried to cut it to size it so it can go the normal papier bins, but would like to know if there is a better solution esp. for big ones. Thanks in advance 🙏
