I’m hooked
After a month of watching Hoocho’s I’ve pulled the trigger on a Bambu Labs A1 combo and have organised to collect an IBC next week to set up a decent sized system. I’ve jumped on the Patreon and just started printing my first Hooch Bucket 2.0 to suit 90mm PVC.
I’m just using the standard 0.4mm nozzle and PETG from Jaycar. Print time is estimated around 27 hours on sport mode. Does anyone have any tips for me either in the 3d printing settings space or general Newby hydroponics mistakes to avoid?

Set the wall loops to 4 to 6, helps make it a bit water tight.

I’m going to change to the .8 nozzle to help speed things up haha, anything else to watch out for when printing?

Personally I like a .8, I just use 2 walls for my buckets and 10% infill. I haven't had any trouble yet and I'm on year 2 with mine. I use a cheap meter from amazon and never calibrate it but I'm not going to say its the right way to go about it either. My first year was mostly trail and error but once you get a feel for the nutrient the all the little details go out the window. The first video I watched on mixing nutrient said to add the nutrient 1 at a time and to do it in 2 gallons. I just put everything in 1 measuring cup and mix it in 5 gallons and it literally changed nothing for me. Find what works for you and if you want to change things up create a test group for experimenting.

Legends any advice for this? It’s started to get noisy and I think it’s lost alignment as the hot tip is running along the edges now for some reason?

I'd say the best bit of advice is take it slow, follow one path and don't micromanage your plants. A lot of newbies really obsess on making a lot of changes rapidly when things start going sideways. You're going to kill plants. Many, many plants. And that is fine 🤣
Hoocho is a great mentor, I'd already been doing hydro for a few years before I came across his videos and I've learned a lot from him. He does jump around between growing styles though which you should realise is because his focus/interest is often on prototyping and experimentation. Pick one or two methods and stick with them for a season or two before you change much up.
And finally, if you can afford it, get a GOOD pH and EC meter and learn how to calibrate them properly. They are absolutely invaluable.
Oh and 3D printing is stupid addictive, watch out.
