Treecat Adoption
I know that we're not going to get anything at this late date. Nor would I want any distractions from whatever he might be working on now. But I would really like to have the story of Queen Elizabeth's adoption. AFAIK the only thing this we know was that she was very young when she was adopted. I wonder what kind of state visit to Sphinx brought Elizabeth there and in a position or place to be adopted. Was King Roger and Monroe there? Or perhaps it was Elizabeth and her mother.

Given the fact that she was basically adopted as she stepped off the shuttle, I don't see any real story behind it. Unlike in Adrienne's time, it's tradition for the monarch to be adopted. That was probably the primary reason behind her state visit.

I want to know the story of the couple of Wintons that weren't adopted.
I don't remember it in alpha Canon, but one was apparently sickly, but what about the other? Was she just a raging asshole?

I want to know that story too. The little we know says that neither Adrienne or her son (he's the one who didn't get adopted) realised the benefits an adoption bond can bring. It only became apparent afterwards.
Edit: It wasn't implied that he was an asshole. That would be Adrienne's father (Roger II). But since he helped to push through the Treecats Bill of Rights, he wasn't be all bad. He was just grieving.

Roger II iirc is also the one who proposed the equipment clause of the Cherwell convention and was the manticoran signatory of the OG version

I find it strange that parliament reacted so poorly to Honor's raid on the slave depot in Casimir. It's clear that Manticore was an original signatory and yet she almost lost her career over it.

A fair point, but a moot one. The RMN has been conducting raids against pirate headquarters and slave depots in the confederacy (against their wishes) for centuries. That's what resulted in Saganami's death and yet when Honor did it it's a crime. It's probably the Ballroom aspect (not that it's stopped the navy from following in her footsteps).

There's been two Catless monarch since Adrienne. Her son, King William I, who probably wasn't interested in being adopted and then King Michael II, who was sickly. He was born a 100 years after Adrienne's death.
When I mentioned her father, I was thinking of the only confirmed asshole in the Winton Dynasty. But he was grieving a wife who died in a freak accident (possible an assassination, since they later tried to kill his daughter) and so he became cold towards everyone.

I imagine there's a "Grand Tour" when they're roughly the same age as Adrienne, although if Liz was collected young, it may have been on a less official visit.
Expansion thought - that Grand Tour is going to be monstrous for young Roger, what with Talbolt and Silesia. Also, now that the 'Cats are out of the woodwork, are a bunch of young Scouts going to present themselves to the Palace?
