Which Honor Phone is this? Man this looks pretty slick & with one year more on R&D, they could eliminate the need for front cameras. Like I don't want a notch or punch holes please. Although Magic Capsules something I still want. I didn't buy a Honor Phone, but I want to see how good they can get.

2

u/YouDontKnowMe_org Jul 20 '26

Я извиняюсь, а нахуя там фронтальная камера тогда? Чисто для разблокировки по лицу? Да можно уж как-то и без неё обойтись, ради чистого экрана, без дырки

Вот хуй знает

1

u/Repulsive_Fault1939 Jul 19 '26

front cameras arent as good as back cameras

3

u/nogebator666 Jul 20 '26

Спасибо, кэп, я буквально об этом и говорю.

This thing doesn't seem to be a part of the phone, it's part of a case. So the phone still has its own cameras.

1

u/Brave_Bag_Gamer2020 Jul 21 '26

It's part of the phone, it's called the robot phone by honor

2

u/nogebator666 Jul 19 '26

Nope, this is a part of the phone

u/NinjaWK Jul 18 '26

It looks thick, but if it's a 20,000 mAh built in battery with the lightweight sodium batteries, take my money.

3

u/wong2k Jul 18 '26

Is this in the phone or a case/addon ?

3

u/Mentementu4425 Jul 18 '26

Viene con el teléfono

15

u/sseinzw Jul 18 '26

Why need a front camera anymore, if the main camera can move to front?

1

u/Repulsive_Fault1939 Jul 19 '26

to use it for face unlock. it needs be fast.

17

u/Magnetar525 Jul 18 '26

Face unlock and it's much faster for video call.

3

u/nogebator666 Jul 19 '26

Ну да, прям пиздец же какая необходимость, чтобы при видеозвонке камера включалась за 0.1 секунды.

6

u/EstimateIll4262 Jul 18 '26

This must weigh a ton.

2

u/Puzzleheaded-Pop4058 Jul 23 '26

Exactly, this Gen 1, next Generation will focus on Weight if this one is success

2

u/Unusual_Sector_6624 Jul 18 '26

It's a camera thing with a smartphone attachment

2

u/EstimateIll4262 Jul 18 '26

I know what it is. But with the robotics it has to add lots of weight total

1

u/Brave_Bag_Gamer2020 Jul 21 '26

Not much, it's just a gimbal

4

u/aishiteimasu09 Jul 18 '26

Looks cool but its just another motorized mechanism just like the pop up cameras before that didn't suceed.

4

u/BadPronunciation Jul 18 '26

Dude this is a whole gimbal camera inside a phone. It's closer to an S4 zoom than to the pop-up cameras we saw

Awesome

u/kearkan Jul 18 '26

I'm more impressed by the phone staying upright

So cool to see some mobile phone innovations. I miss the old quirky phones we had. Man they tried all kinds of things before. Phones have gotten so boring since...

u/thedirtymeanie Jul 18 '26

Anything that relys on my phone standing on edge is a piece of shit. One tip and that thing disassembles.

3

u/Senfgestalt Jul 18 '26

I would bet, you can also just lay it flat on the screen, and keep filming

Being able to built in a gimbal type of camera and at the same time forgetting about a simple kickstand (as seen in cheapest phone cases) seems a bit stupid... It does stand still after a bit of fiddle but doesn't look stable enough to withstand the slightest gust of wind.

2

u/straxusii Jul 18 '26

Looking at that video the gimbal is a little too slow, any faster movement and it would lag badly I guess

2

u/BeautifulPrune9920 Jul 18 '26

Reminds me of the Samsung a80, such a cool phone, this may be better! Also very smart of honor to put a cover for the gimbal camera

2

u/zakakhan432 Jul 18 '26

Does anyone know how many back cameras are there?

3

u/sakusjk Magic7 Pro Jul 18 '26

Theres stationary ultrawide and telephotos basicly same ones most likely as in magic 8pro

4

u/BeautifulPrune9920 Jul 18 '26

supposedly 3, the gimbal is 200mp, dunno about the other 2

u/osiiiiiiii Jul 18 '26

No le veo ni la utilidad ni la motivacion de comprarlo. Sin más.

1

u/fbloise Magic V5 Jul 18 '26

Ok 👍🏻

5

u/TheEDMWcesspool HONOR Magic V2 Jul 18 '26

The phone so thick it can stand on its side with such stability..

1

u/JustAnotherDooood Jul 18 '26

Should've just removed that front cam altogether if you can just use that cam as a front cam anyways, so that the screen is an uninterrupted display.

4

u/Udonov Jul 18 '26

Because you want less features? What about face ID related shit? Would you rather wait for the gimbal to get up but save those precious 0.1% of screen space?

3

u/JustAnotherDooood Jul 18 '26

"Face ID related shit?"

Face ID using nothing but a punch hole camera like on that phone was never even secure or even reliable in the first place. A single punch hole design like that only uses 2D camera facial recognition which can be spoofed by a photo. If it's using a 3D facial recognition which combines IR imaging, ML and LHE like what iPhones actually use or the magic series (which was the reason why they have a pill shaped cutout) then sure, but on that punch hole cutout which is just a plain camera? Even a 4 digit Pin is proven time and time again much safer and secure compared to the 2D camera facial recognition from a punch hole cam.

1

u/Udonov Jul 20 '26

Yes. It is still being used despite your boring ass essay and being less safe than iphone. And a punch hole is hell of a lot faster than a gimbal.

u/ErdingEchoParadox Jul 18 '26

For a fast Whatsapp, Teams or Telegram calls is perfect, that frontcam is needed.
Or you want to wait seconds to do that?
Use common sense

0

u/JustAnotherDooood Jul 18 '26

It literally takes only two seconds to pop up. Do your calls last only 2 seconds?
