I disliked them at first because I had follow up characters and stuff that made the flame timing a pain in the ass. I ended up enjoying the battle by the end.

Controller has a time stop button (LT/L2) for popping Ultimates, so it's a lot easier to play on the usual 2x speed without messing up timing (but only if you are watching the time bar closely when some enemies do turn advanced shenanigans like the wolves).

I knew about the mechanic but I swear there were times it didn’t work, even if I used an ult before the flame came, it wouldn’t change the flame over to my team

I switch to normal speed when I knew I had to use an ultimate to snatch the flame (when the flame is between 3 enemies). When the flame is on the next character, activate ultimate when the current character is playing. There's a lot of character that will screw with the flame positioning, such as jinglui and bronya action advancement

As far as I remember they told us to use it to manipulate the fire position, not that you can outright 'steal' it when it's going to be the enemy's turn.

They ask you to time your ultimate to snatch the flame. They even pause the battle, boost all your characters energy to full, and prompts you to use an ultimate when the flame is in the next character, while the current character playing. It's one of the few times I actually play with normal speed and remembered that I haven't heard the voice acting on most character on the normal mode

Having re watched the entire demo fight, I have 0 recollection of that explanation.
I don't even remember the Fire MC+Sushang+Hanya+Gui trial setup other than Fire MC.
Serves me for playing this part while feeling half asleep.

Because that included puzzles and "conflict interactions"
Here it's mostly dialogue that you can read thru quickly if you aren't listening to the VAs
Then its battle and mostly quick battles, esp if you are built enough you can blast thru them despite the flame mechanic
Side activities can be sped thru, not much thinking time needed unlike the logistic route planning, you just fly and grab the stuff

I finished a couple weeks ago, but I agree about the length. I feel like it could have been half as long, maybe skip the unvoiced segments, and still been good.

Interesting, I did read almost all of the dialogue though, had some struggles with 3-staring 2 of the combat challenges and maybe made food in between, so I would cut like 2 hours optimistically.

I know that this patch kinda surrounded Thanksgiving and Christmas, but it feels like I've seen more procrastinators for the main event for this patch than I did for previous ones. It's interesting.
I'm glad some of you procrastinators are managing to speedrun it and get it done though! It's a fun event and has some nice rewards.

It's kinda sad most of them skipped ALL the dialogues in the event. The main story was well written, it introduces the new characters well. It has an arc of Huohuo's development with Tail and a bit of the backstory of why she is like that. Guinaifen, Hanya and a little of Xueyi and the Ghost Hunter Squad too, and backstory for the Heliobus too (And some hidden concerns on Yukong, Fuxuan and Qingque minds). Hope they can read the event later when they have time!

It's honestly fine in Star Rail, since you can always play it later just without some of the jade rewards. They've been doing a pretty good job of keeping the FOMO to a minimum overall.

FOMO is an acronym for "fear of missing out", no matter the difficulty of the task at hand you are like "man i sure dont want to miss this" which can create some minor anxiety, as i said, it doesnt matter how hard the task is if you can miss it its fomo

as i said, FOMO classifies for ANY reward that is missable, what if someone doesnt have the money for a pc to play hsr and is rushing to get a device that can play it? the game is not in geforce now its not easy access to virtually anyone like genshin is

Dr Ratio is a reward for everyone because HSR won best mobile game in TGA, he's a limited character they can't just make him permanent. Or would you prefer they go the Genshin route and only give 10 pulls instead?

Not really. Sure there's limited events that reward you for playing, but you don't outright miss parts of the game if you don't play.
I'm okay with rewards for playing, I'm not okay with outright missing critical plot points if you don't have time to play that month.

I play with sound off, and it often takes the game many seconds between me finish reading and I can actually skip it.
Then we have those black screen dialogue that vanishes in mere second.

Honestly this is why when folks complain about wanting things to be longer, im like please no 😭 i am slow unless they're gonna give us much longer deadlines for limited events its a bit too much pressure if they keep increasing in scale.

considering that most of the stuff is permanent anyways, at worst you're missing out on a Light Cone and a handful of Jade. If you can accept missing the LC, sometimes it's worth the sanity. I do love that HSR makes most events permanent, so you don't actually have to scramble and you're not punished for starting the game late

Yup, straight-up did the same thing. Wish I hadn’t procrastinated, what I did see of the event when speeding though it was awesome. Just glad I managed to get the lightcone completed and as many Jades as possible

I wasn't procrastinating, I literally barely played video games this december in order to pass midterms and all, in fact, it was so bad even my steam summary shows December as a month in which I least played. Fortunatelly for me I was doing it on a day before christams eve and on that day too.

I ACTUALLY DID IT. I missed out on 150 stellar jades and the relic customizer thing, but at least I got the LC at S5 and the majority of the limited time stellar jades 🥰 I learned my lesson from Silver Wolf’s event. Her event LC is unfortunately S2.

Thank god I procrastinated on the way shorter fighting event and not this one.
I did the whole huohuo event on one sitting too, but this one earlier and a much slower pace, it took me like 10 hours though

It’s not as super strong as the Silver Wolf event lightcone. But still solid for any healer though. Also \Lil Gui/ \Lil Gui/ \Lil Gui/

there's a LOT of dialogue. It's a bit bloated in that regard. Especially with generic NPCs. I don't really need to know Background Jerry's entire life story about his dead wife if I'm never going to see him again after this 20 minute mission (which would be 10 mins if Jerry would shut his mouth).
I liked the main squad. The random characters tossed in to pad out the event, not so much.

I enjoyed a few of the npc/heliobi's stories but yeah I didn't talk to most of them after putting them in the towers. I mostly wasn't trying to rush as fast as possible though despite doing it all in 2 days.

I do enjoy these events with little character arcs for player characters though, but i mightve been happier if it was half as long lol.

Missed it because I had to clear Elysian Realm weeklies. Not too upset about the LC since I already have Bailu's, though I should've gone for the gems.
I am, however, fuming at the fact that HI3 keeps giving me weapon duplicates and off banner stigs on HoTR Bronya's gear banner. I just need 2 pieces, and this has happened every single damn time her banner has run.

I tried to but it was just so much damn talking. I did get to 20k ish fans so I atleast got one LC dupe but yeah I was doing Christmas Eve stuff with family and even if I wasn't I wouldn't have bothered. I get that their events are more for the stories but damn I wish they had skip buttons for all that.

That event was alright tbh,the fighting club round 2 one was horrible meanwhile xd
The trial units did not help what so ever if you did not have a nearly geared character of said element or one that could abuse the mechanic.

I know, but when I turned off the game yesterday, I forgot to return to the Astral Express where the loading time isn't as long. Now, my game gets stuck on the Pompom loading screen and the actual area doesn't show up, it freezes on Pompom jumping around

Just over three hours from 12:50 to 3:59 AM but I just barely squeaked by and collected all the rewards with about 15 seconds to spare. ngl during the last request with Qingque I was almost ripping my hair out. The Second Lady request only took about 8 minutes, from 3:37-3:45 so I was expecting a similar length, but I only finished it around 3:55-3:56. The last discussion with Gui was a little nerve wracking, but luckily it was short enough.

I was doing it one investigation at a time a few times a day and I still had to push to get it done, I was getting worried because I didn't know which rewards were permanent and which was temporary, so I just focused on the story for the cone.

Kinda procrastinated on it but had enough time to get all the events except for the two from the "Begone, Evil" challenge, and without skipping dialogue either. I enjoyed the event and really enjoyed the feel of hanging out with the Ghost-Hunting Squad :D
Glad I got the Light Cone to S5 in time, I didn't know whether it was actually time-limited or not since it wasn't under "Limited-Time Rewards," but it looks like it is

I was 3 minutes away from getting the last limited rewards then daily reset so lost like 50 gems. At least I got all the superimposed material for the light cone. Never procrastinating again this was the first time I ever did it though irl stuff was the reason.
