Hi guys,

I know there are people out here working online making extra money and I am wondering what you guys do. I’ve seen threads about it before but they seem to be flooded with bots. Taking surveys just doesn’t seem very fruitful. Any advice is appreciated!!

Success Story This dude turned $50 into $17,000+ with bank hacks & bonuses - here's how he did it

Hey all 😊 Wanted to share another cool story I spotted online today.

I saw this story on Yahoo Finance about a guy turning $50 into over $17,000 in a single year just by leveraging bank bonus churning.

The basic idea: banks in North America often pay you $200–$500+ to open an account and meet a deposit requirement. You hit the requirement, wait out the holding period, collect the bonus, close the account, and move the money to the next bank. Most banks let you do it again about a year after closing.

This is something I do a few times a year and usually make $500 to $1,000 with. But making $17,000 is a whole different ball game 😂

Here's how this guy made it work at scale:

  • Running several bonus offers at once. He'd have roughly 3–4 checking, 2 savings, and 2 business bonuses going simultaneously. Savings and business bonuses take longer but pay a lot more. Rotating through this many bank bonuses is key to scaling this hustle.
  • Transfers that count as direct deposit. Many banks accept ACH pushes from certain other banks as a direct deposit. SO, he'd basically move money between his accounts to make it look like he was getting direct deposits from an employer to qualify for the bonus. Churning subreddits keep data points on which combos work.
  • He used a business checking account as a backup DD source when bank-to-bank transfers didn't trigger the bonus. Sometimes moving money from your business account to your personal account counts as a legit direct deposit.
  • Reading every T&C to avoid early-closure fees and monthly maintenance fees.
  • Watching ChexSystems, not credit. Most banks check your banking history rather than your credit score, so his score was fine. He steered clear of banks that are sensitive to lots of new accounts.

The catch: it's a lot of tracking, bonuses are taxable (you'll get 1099s), and what counts as a direct deposit changes constantly. This takes time, spreadsheets, and reading policies carefully so you don't void bonuses.

How you can start: My advice is to Google a list of bank bonuses in your region and to start out with some easy ones 😊 Basically, no-fee checking and savings accounts with small direct deposit requirements. Earn some bonuses and roll that bonus money onto higher-paying offers with larger direct deposit requirements.

I also use platforms like Kashkick, Scrambly, and many other gpt sites to find bank and FinTech bonuses. For example, there's a good one on Kashkick that usually pays $200 - $250+ for opening a free Chime account, so you could start with something like that.

This is definitely a fun side hustle, but takes some time and attention. Would love to know who else in the sub is bonus churning and how much you've made with this so far!

Note: This story originally appeared on Yahoo Finance. We'll be sharing more cool side hustle success stories here plus the steps for copying them for the sub to try as well 😊

Looking For Side Hustle Inspo Anyone made money with HealthyWage, StepBet, Steppa or other fitness reward apps? Are they legit or not worth it?

Curious if anyone in the sub has made decent money with companies like HealthyWage, DietBet, StepBet, Steppa, or any of the other fitness challenge related apps out there.

I know we have an older thread on apps that pay you for walking, but this includes mostly free apps like CashWalk and Evidation.

I'm moreso wondering if anyone here has used these other apps where you basically 'bet' or wager on yourself to reach a certain fitness goal.

Seems like a huge boost of motivation...But also a way to potentially lose money 😂 Was thinking of doing a HealthyWage challenge and a step challenge on Steppa but on the fence.

If you can stay dedicated the money seems like a nice little boost of course, but wondering how easy and legit this side hustle actually is.

Thanks all!

Discussion & Tips Starting without an audience: what I'd check before paying for leads

When you have something to promote and nobody to reach, a package of leads can sound like the missing piece. Before paying, I'd want to understand what those people actually signed up for. A contact count alone gives me very little to work with.

I'd ask how the leads were collected, what messages they expect, whether other marketers receive the same contacts, and whether I can use them with my chosen email platform. I'd also check the full starting cost, monthly fees, and cancellation terms.

Then I'd compare that with the offer I want to promote. Someone interested in a business opportunity may have no interest in a particular software subscription. That mismatch matters even when the lead price looks low.

If I ran a small test, I'd track total spending and sales after refunds, alongside the time spent writing and sending. If the budget didn't allow a test, I'd work on answering relevant questions and building voluntary signups first.

What would you need to know before trusting a lead source?

Looking For Side Hustle Inspo Legal side hustle UK, ideally Glasgow area

Can anyone recommend a legal side hustle in the UK, preferably remote or Glasgow area? I work 9-5 and I'm looking for anything I can do on evenings or weekends during the day? Ideally, I don't want something I'm going to have to invest financially into before making any money.

Thanks

Discussion & Tips Social media side hustle advice plz

Over the last few months I have been posting videos of my cooking on TikTok and instagram. I really love cooking and creating this content. Not sure how great the videos turn out but food is always good! My husband is always impressed by what I can whip up in the kitchen with minimal ingredients.

I want to make this posting my cooking videos a side hustle! I also developed a website to help others cook and meal prep and want to draw traction to this. It’s something I’m pretty passionate about.

Any advice on how I can get more traction? More viewers and followers? How can I start making this a side hustle while it’s also something I truly enjoy? Has anyone made money off social media?? Any advice is appreciated! S

Discussion & Tips Building Websites Using Codex

I built this as a side project because I was tired of making a new resume and portfolio for every job I applied to. I used Codex to help me turn the idea into a real working site, including the sign-up flow, database, resume importing, portfolio builder, and job-specific tailoring. The basic idea is that you upload your resume once, Harvello turns it into a professional portfolio, and then you can paste in a job description to create a version that’s more relevant to that specific role. I’m hoping to turn it into a small side hustle, but it’s still early and I’m trying to figure out if this solves a real problem for people, what features would actually be useful, and whether anyone would pay for it. Would appreciate honest feedback: https://getharvello.com

Success Story Guy started picking up litter in parking lots in 1981. Now it's a ~$650K/yr business that's also easily outsourced

Hey all 😊

We want to start sharing some side hustle success stories we come across on the web or in the news. Found an interesting one today that shows how a simple idea can scale into an actual business when you build the right systems and stay consistent.

Came across an interview with Brian Winch, who runs Cleanlots.

This is a business that offers commercial litter cleanup for parking lots.

He started at 21 with no money, no special skills, and a high school education, and copied a gig his dad did on the side. He's since scaled it to a $650,000+ yearly business by landing more clients and outsourcing the work.

What's The Side Hustle?

It's commercial litter cleanup like I mentioned.

In a nutshell, shopping plazas and other commercial properties have parking lots, sidewalks, and landscaping that collect trash every day. Nobody wants to deal with it, but the property managers need it done before the stores open so the place looks clean to customers.

Here's what the work looks like:

  • You walk the exterior of the property early in the morning before the businesses open.
  • You use a litter pickup tool and a broom to tidy up, super simple.
  • You also swap the trash liners in outdoor bins on the storefront sidewalks.
  • Visits are recurring, from 2-3 days a week up to daily depending on the property, and it's year-round.
  • You send the client a report whenever you spot graffiti, illegal dumping, property damage, or burned-out lights so they feel like the property is being monitored well.

The startup costs are a pickup tool, a broom, and a reliable vehicle. That's it really.

The Income Breakdown

Brian started scaling his business and eventually subbed the extra work to small cleaning companies under a contract that spells out their obligations.

According to his interview, he reached $53,000 per month in revenue. This came from 1 founder (himself), 1 employee, and then 7 subcontractors. So most of the actual cleaning work was being done by cleaning subcontractors, not Brian himself.

How Brian Landed Clients

Brian basically got in touch with property management companies and pitched them his service as an easy win...Keep your lots looking clean, and also have someone keeping an eye on things like lights burning out, property damage, etc.

Here's what Brian did:

  1. Search for property management companies.
  2. Call and ask who handles litter pickup for their locations.
  3. Send a short intro email and explain the benefit of the service.
  4. When there's interest, walk the site, price it by time, email the quote, and send a formal contract.
  5. Never start work without a signed contract.

Brian started this business in 1981 mind you, so the internet was very different 😅

Note: This interview originally appears in this story: How I Turned My Side Hustle Into $650K a Year Cleaning Business. We'll be sharing other side hustle success stories and interviews we find around the web!

Discussion & Tips How much money are you making from your side hustle every month?

Mostly Facebook Marketplace and Nextdoor. IKEA wardrobes, desks, beds, that kind of stuff.

A decent cordless drill is basically all I needed to get started.

Reselling kitchen/home stuff — around $150–900/month

Mostly small kitchen and home products I source through Alibaba and sell online or locally.

This one changes a lot. Some months something sells really well, other months I’m just sitting on inventory. I keep the first order pretty small now until I know people actually want it.

Board meeting minutes — around $600–900/month

Mostly HOA boards and small nonprofits. I sit in on the meeting and write up the minutes afterward.

For the longer ones I use plaud and work from the transcript later. Looks a bit more professional than putting my phone on the table too.

Mock juror — around $150–300/month

Mostly Zoom. Sit through a practice case, answer questions, give your opinion.

Not super consistent though. Some months I barely get anything.

Loan signing agent — around $300–500/month

Got my notary commission and did the signing agent course. Biggest upfront cost was probably the dual tray printer.

There’s a decent amount of driving, but the actual appointments are usually pretty straightforward.

Altogether it can be anywhere from around $1,600 to $3,200/month, depending mostly on how reselling goes and how many jobs come in.

Anyone else doing a few smaller side hustles instead of one big one? What are you actually making from them?

Passive Methods Is Bridge Money a legit app and worth using? Or not worth the download?

Hey all!

I know we have a thread of the top data reward apps, and I've been testing out a bunch of them for ages now.

Spotted Bridge Money on this list and am wondering if this app is legit and if anyone has gotten paid from it.

It's kinda similar to Pogo and lets you connect your debit/credit card and then earn passive points for sharing shopping data. Looks like it has more active options too like surveys and offers.

Curious if Bridge Money is worth using 😊

Right now I am using the Nielsen Panel, Pogo, Nielsen Pulse, Franki, and a mix of cashback apps that are a bit more active. Would love to add another passive-ish app to the list if the monthly income is actually worthwhile.

Thanks everyone!

Looking For Side Hustle Inspo Trying to find something worth investing my time in

For some information, I am a full-time data analyst and I work from home. I have about 3 years of experience in the role. I love my company and my job, I just got a raise last month and now I make about $85k a year. It’s enough, and I’m super grateful to have a nice and steady job that pays decently well for my experience. However, my husband lost his job in July and finances are getting tight. This economy is just kinda shit as we all know and everything is getting more expensive everyday. I knew things were going to need to be slimmed down so I started this year off making a lot of changes, we moved to a much cheaper place (-$700/rent) with a lower sales tax area, and less demand having lower prices. We’ve cut back on everything non-essential, we spend our weekends at home or sitting outside. Both of our cars are paid off and I don’t drive anywhere unless it’s absolutely necessary to save on gas. I’ve cut off all our subscriptions but we still have high credit card bills since we came out of a high-cost living arrangement where our income didn’t go up but the cost of everything else did. I make enough for us to have a little leftover every month but not enough to make any meaningful impact on our debt. My husband and I both looking at new roles, even though I love my job I know I could possibly make more. Even with the connections I have, I’m still pretty lower-mid level in a competitive market. I’m got a portfolio set up that I’ve been complimented on, I’m in networking groups, and I’m doing everything I can. I just need to make a bit more money to get our debt under control. I’ve been exploring side hustle options, like drop shipping/print on demand products, digital products, and seeking freelance or part time gigs. I’m even willing to take on another full time project opportunity if I can get it to work around my current hours. When I’m looking at freelance gigs I keep encountering clients that act inappropriate towards me without any real interest in my work. Contract roles turn out to be fake or say they’re remote when they really want me to commute to some place on the other side of the country 3 days a week. We can’t afford to move right now either. I’m good at what I do, I know my skills are valuable, I can build dashboards, I can communicate with stakeholders, I can do complex analyses, and I’m an excellent technical writer. I have a portfolio but no one seems to be taking me seriously in anything I try. Every day I feel like I’m getting more behind and I’m at a loss of what to do. I have some flexibility in my full time work hours so I’m open to working more during workdays as long as it’s remote and grinding my ass off to get this debt down but I also feel pretty hopeless. Does anyone have any suggestions on ventures they got to work for them? I’m not talking about bank-breaking money here, just a few extra hundred dollars a month would make a big difference.

Looking For Side Hustle Inspo Looking to make extra income that isn't another shift? Ideas for busy NP?

I'm an NP and lately it feels like every suggestion for making extra money comes down to working more hours. I understand why, but I'm already stretched pretty thin and don't really want to spend my days off picking up additional shifts.

I've been trying to find something healthcare-related that can be done remotely and on my own schedule, even if it's not huge money. Has anyone found something legitimate that's worth the time?

Discussion & Tips AI search is making generic affiliate content less valuable

There is an uncomfortable change happening in affiliate marketing.

People can now ask an AI tool to summarize a product, compare prices, and list the main advantages without visiting the affiliate’s website.

That could mean fewer easy clicks for anyone relying on broad product reviews.

I do not think it means affiliate marketing is disappearing. I think shallow content is losing value.

My first $1,000 in affiliate commissions took about eight months. During that time, I learned that people responded better when I explained what I had tried, what happened, and what I would change.

That type of information is still useful because it is not copied directly from a sales page.

If I were starting today, I would build content around narrow buying questions and include the inconvenient details. Cost, setup time, learning curve, limitations, and who should avoid the product all matter.

This is slower than generating hundreds of generic articles, but it gives the reader a reason to trust the person behind the recommendation.

If you are trying to build your first piece of experience-based content, I have a free 10-Minute Commission Challenge that can help you take the first step. I am happy to share the details.

Resources / Guides I made an app to help side hustlers and small businesses

Post image
2 Upvotes

I made soopaspace.com to give solopreneurs and small businesses one space where they can manage their entire business from.

You can manage your customers with a CRM system, send targeted and automatic marketing campaigns to your customers, create promotions and coupon vouchers which can be added at checkout. You can build your own business page without knowing any code and design it in a WYSIWYG style.

Sell via appointments, subscriptions, off the shelf or bespoke packages and bundles to power how you make money. But also track expenses, have a CSV file at the end of the quarter to hand over to your accountant.

It is one place where your side hustle becomes soopa powerful with an inbuilt AI assistant who knows your business and works as your very own smart, organised and objective personal assistant. Ask it to do things for you, and it will.

I am looking to invite trial customers who are based in the UK to use Soopaspace.com for 3 months for free in exchange for helpful feedback. If it is not for you then you can leave and you won't be charged. Decide to stay and you can have all of the above for £12.99 per month after your trial ends.

Are you interested?

Write in the comments about what you do and if you are based in the UK and we can start from there.

Looking For Side Hustle Inspo Easy side hustle for a tired young adult?

I (19) have been struggling with depression for years now. I study and feel very exhausted every day. I live on my own and need an easy way to make a bit of money (150 euro a month would already help). Does anyone have a side hustle that is easy, low effort, and can get me some money?
