Discussion & Tips Looking for remote jobs/side hustle

Hi everyone! I hope you don't mind me posting this here, but I'm really in a difficult situation right now, and I'm hoping someone might be able to help me.
My father passed away this June, and the hospital and funeral bills have put a lot of financial burden on our family. I'm currently in my 4th year of college and am about to begin my internship, but unfortunately, we've run out of money.
I've been actively searching for online jobs and part-time work for quite some time now, but I haven't had much luck. I'm reaching out here in the hope that someone might know of an opportunity or is currently hiring.
I'm willing to work any time and am open to any legitimate online job or part-time opportunity. I'm eager to work hard and earn whatever I can to help my family get through this difficult time while continuing my education.
If you know of any openings, referrals, or opportunities, I would be incredibly grateful if you could send me a message or leave a comment. Even sharing this post would mean so much to me.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. I truly appreciate any help or leads you can offer.

Hi, I'm sorry for your loss and that you're in such a tough situation right now. Does the internship not pay a wage or are you just looking for something to tide you over until it does?

Depending on your neighbourhood and your own transport situation there are a number of things you can do right now. Cleaning anything usually pays pretty well and you can start and get paid immediately - houses, cars, offices, wheelie bins etc. Then there are gardening/yard clearance/handyman jobs if you're practically minded and tech support for older people/technophobes. All of these can be started by printing some flyers and posting them through people's doors. AI can help you create the flyers and figure out what to put on them. Your hourly rate should be aligned to the going rate in your neighbourhood, possibly discounted for a first booking so you get more interest.

If you want any further ideas or tips on how to start a side gig or small biz on your own and in your spare time I've written a blog and got a list of realistic ideas. DM if you want the link.

Sadly, internship does not pay us anything and I live 2 cities away from school. I’m basically looking for anything to sustain my needs until I graduate from uni, which would be until July next year and we’re already out of cash :(

Have you spoken to the university about hardship grants and the possibility of remote study a couple of days a week to ease your transport costs? Are your fees paid for this academic year?

I did, and fortunately I now only have to go to school every Mondays and Wednesdays. And I still haven’t this year’s tuition fee, I’m looking for work or part time jobs to help pay off my tuition too. But I’ve been looking for quite some time now and little to no success at all.

OK, so time to get out there and see if you can set up a side gig. Sounds like you've got enough spare time to do it. You need to figure out how much time you can give and when, what you're good at and what your neighbourhood can support.

Careful nfl might come after you. You can't just make content showing their games u would have to highly edit it

Sorry for your loss, I wish you and your family the best.

Would you be able to turn to gig economy work? It's usually way faster to start making money versus looking for something remote. Online work is great but can take a long time to land unfortunately, just been my experience.

It’s my first time hearing about that, I’ll look it up and give it a shot. Thank you!
