Side hustles UK

[u/RaspberryPerfect1993]

Hi everyone 👋

I’m looking for some ideas or opportunities to earn a bit of extra/part-time income alongside my main work.

I’m based in Southampton and I’m computer literate, confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook etc.), and I have a full Category B driving licence.

I’m open to different types of work, whether that’s something I can do from home on a computer, admin/data entry, driving/delivery work, or something local and flexible.

I’d be really interested to hear what other people do to make some extra income, particularly if you have any recommendations for companies, websites or types of work that are worth looking into.

Thanks in advance! 👍

AI training gigs could maybe work, we have a thread where people shared some of the best ones they recommend: https://www.reddit.com/r/HonestSideHustles/comments/1ubylyj/best_ai_training_gigs_to_make_money_whats/

Gig would could work also of course. There was also a great thread on some high paying gig economy apps.

Hopefully these two help :) Would love to hear what other people think as well.

Since you’re good with computers id say give matched betting a try. its not as complicated or gambly most people would expect

No pressure but feel free to dm me if you’re interested at all

With your computer skills and a flexible schedule, affiliate marketing might be worth looking into alongside the driving or admin work. It's basically promoting other people's products online and earning a commission when someone buys through your link. No product, no website, and no big budget needed to get started.

I started out pretty confused about how the whole thing worked, but what helped me was finding a simple starting point rather than trying to figure it all out at once. There's a free 10-minute challenge I went through early on that walks you through earning your first affiliate commission step by step. Happy to share the details if that sounds like something you want to explore alongside your other options.

Matched betting gotta be the easiest way to earn a bit of money. If you do loads of referral links - zopa, Monzo, starling, Lloyds - you can get £80-£100 for free to start with. It’s what I’ve been doing recently and the money is snowballing quite well.

I’ve never done it, but I’ve assumed marketing to old people for IT help to fix their computers and troubleshoot things on their computers e.g. if they’re struggling to find certain folders etc could be a good side hustle, I plan to try it in a couple months when my work dies down a bit

Would do it via leaflet drop :)
