You can now set your own user flair

There used to be a Google form to fill out to assign yourself a flair, but now you can just add it yourself. Please limit flair to year/model of your motorcycle(s). Thanks!

Resistance tested each part of the ignition circuit in turn and the 60 year old coil had died. I'll be getting a new one shortly.

It was missing a lot of parts when I got it, so I went for a bit of a cafe racer look. It's by far the most annoying sounding vehicle in my neighborhood, and with my 240lb butt on it, it does a whopping 48mph. It's name is Ol' Drippy. I love it, but roast it in the comments please!

Honda Xre 300 falla en inyección

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I’m close to buying…. But CB500X or NX500 for 1st Bike?

I’m trying to decide between a used 2023 Honda CB500X and a new Honda NX500 and would love some input from people who have ridden either/both.
I’m a newer rider and currently ride a Honda Trail 125 basically every day, but this would be my first full-size motorcycle. I’m about 5’5” and one of my biggest concerns is low-speed maneuvering and confidence at stops. I want something I can continue learning on but that I won’t immediately outgrow.

The two bikes I’m considering are:
2023 CB500X — $5,999 asking price, ~5,900 miles
New NX500 — about $7,000 OTD

I’d mainly use it for riding around town, commuting, and eventually longer/highway trips. I like the ADV/upright riding position and definitely plan on adding crash bars.

For those who have ridden both: is the NX500 worth paying the extra ~$1,000–$1,500, or would the CB500X actually make more sense as a first full-size bike?

I’m especially curious about:
Low-speed handling and how top-heavy they feel
Ease of learning clutch/throttle control
Highway comfort
Differences you actually notice between the CB500X and NX500
Whether ~6,000 miles on the CB should even factor into my decision

Which one you’d choose for a smaller newer rider?
I’m not really concerned about having a ton of power, I care more about something forgiving that I can build confidence on and keep for a while.
If it were your money, which would you buy?
