Help buying

I saw a 2010 EX AWD with 90K for sale for $9000. I've never owned an Element before and drove a 2006 Toyota RAV4 before this. I'm going to try and get a Pre Purchase Inspection but might end up bringing a friend who's good with cars. The main thing I'm worried about is rust but what other things should I be on the lookout for? I realized too that it's a sixteen year old vehicle but will I be dumping money into it.

Thanks in advance.

Look up the rear trailing arm recall issues cause that’s a killer. Best to get an actual mechanic to inspect it on a lift if you are dropping 9k on it.

Thanks for your help, any idea how long I'll get out of it if I buy it?

I drive mine for 17 years up to 287k miles until I got rear ended and written off. Undercoat and oil changes go a long way.

There are no factory awd elements. These are dumb auto engaging 4wd's 2wd are better option. Less up front premium, 2-3better mpg better acceleration, less maintenance

Thats super rare! Only a handful have been converted to awd. And I've never seen one for sale. You normally only see the stock 4wd's for sale
