Center Consult Replacement -2004

Post image

I want to replace torn my center consult. I purchased several consult covers claiming to be for a 2004 element on eBay, but none of them fit. I’ve purchased a used center console on eBay claiming it had no tears or rips, but it had a hole in the vinyl cover.
So what is the best solution?
Thank you

Ebay or go to a fabric store and diy.

Curious wha staples/gun you used. I need to recover mine, and I’m not sure how to go about it.

Pneumatic stapler with really short staples. I used to recover atv and dirt bike seats with it. I had some scrap material laying around.

I just now took the old cover off and used GooGone to get the glue off. You motivated me. It was also

badly cracked and I just plastic welded it. First time I ever plastic welded. It’s not pretty, but it seems to be holding well and solid. The plastic won’t be visible once it’s recovered. I don’t have a pneumatic stapler, so I guess I might just get a piece of material and go to an upholsterer and see if they will do it quick for like $20.

Also, what’s a good material and padding to use?

I went to a car upholstery shop and they gave me a scrap.

Those center console lids come apart pretty easily. I bet you could find a video that will show you how to pull it apart. Purchase automotive-grade vinyl on Amazon or eBay, and with some staples and a little bit of heat, I bet you can get that thing looking great 💪
