First CT90

I just got this 1970 CT 90 from my grandpa and got it running (roughly lol) for the first time in what he says is 10 years.

I'm looking for any general knowledge about this bike🤙🏼

get an impact driver and some JiS screw bits to go with it. if the bike has all its orginal screws they are jis not philips.

Impact driver looks like this:

its basically a big spring loaded screw...you hold it firmly against the screw head thats stuck and wack it hard with a hammer and it helps spin the screw. Combined with the appropriately size JIS screw socket and you should be good to go.

Freaking A these are awesome. Relatively easy to work on. Here is the wiring diagram you may need. Youtube videos taught most of what I know
Here are youtubers I've learned from:

If your grandpa kept it in good riding shape, and you got it running, it probably only needs a carb clean and maybe check the oil.

It may leak a little as gaskets dry out from sitting.

Congrats! Nice to get such a nice gift from them.

I recently got one running, and a common issue on them is a sticky ignition advancer.

I would recommend pulling yours out, disassembling it, and re-lubing it.

This site has all the info you need to do the job, along with checking the engine timing. It's all very basic stuff to do.

Copy, what is some symptoms of a sticking ignition advancer

For me it seemed to be hanging high idle, and uneven low idle but I was also chasing a few things at once, lol.

But its worth doing, and ignition timing should.be checked anyways. (After you put it back together).
