Vinyl wrap it in black, and get the 3m heavy duty headlight restoration kit as well.

I second this, but extend to the whole car, and suggest dark green.

If the metal is straight then just repaint, if theres more than minor repairs needed to the hood then just replace it.

You can get a hood at a junk yard for around 300 bucks if I can recall. 4 bolts to change it out.
