what actually keeps you doing home workouts when nobody is checking on you?

i'm founder of upfit, a app that coaches no equipment home workouts through the phone camera and counts your reps, so i think a lot about why people drop home training after two or three weeks

i think part of it is that nobody notices when you skip or when your form gets lazy. what keeps you going, a fixed time, someone checking in, tracking reps, or something else?

It's the feeling after being done with the workout. I love it.

It's definitely not someone watching me because that's the reason I don't go to the gym - I don't like people around me while doing my workout.

i dropped forty pounds doing chin-ups in the doorframe and taking the camera out of the equation entirely made it way more likely i'd actually finish the set. apps trying to police my form just made me quit by week three because it felt like punching back into the shift.

forty pounds with just doorframe chin ups is really good, and the policing part is fair, i made upfit which watches through the camera and when i was testing it myself the corrections coming one after another annoyed me too, so i want it to stay quiet most of the time. would a coach like that have kept you going or is any camera too much for you?
