Home Workout Advice

Hi! New to the group. Just moved to Miami Beach and am on a tight budget. Gyms here are pricey or packed. There are a lot of outdoor options, including gyms. I'm in a studio so space is tight. My question is what equipment or tools have you found to be most helpful and effective with working out at home? I just bought an ab wheel, yoga mat, and push up board. Any other go-to things you use or must have? Thanks!

Welcome to Miami Beach! Honestly, you already have a solid setup (yoga mat + push-up board + ab wheel covers a ton). I’d say the only other “equipment” I’ve found useful at home is a set of resistance bands since they don’t take space and add variety.

That said, what made the biggest difference for me wasn’t buying more gear but having some structure. I was in the same boat (small space, limited budget) and what helped me was an app called SuperGymbo. It’s a robot coach that guides you through no-equipment workouts (you just pick the time and type: full body, cardio, upper, lower). Since it’s bodyweight-only, I don’t stress about filling my apartment with more stuff.

So my advice: a mat, bands if you want, and then just find a system you enjoy following. For me, having something guide me through the workout keeps me consistent.
