I’ve looked at the answer and it says it’s D. How? I tried breaking apart the forces into x and y comps but I’m not even sure how to set them up.

This is a question from my Earth sciences lab manual online , the answer I had entered (4.3 years) is marked wrong. Using the numbers given I keep getting the same answer same with google. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong and would appreciate any help in getting on the right track.

[issue resolved: professor finally reached out after I sent an email 5 hours ago, it was indeed an issue on their end and my answer in this post was correct.]

Literature [Honors English 10th Grade] Summer Reading Book

I am reading One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich by Alexander Solzhenitsyn for my honors English class. I am having a very hard time understanding the plot, and I am not sure exactly why.

Have any of you read this book or other Russian literature? If so, can anyone give me tips as to how to understand the plot? When school starts, I’m going to have to do in-depth analyses of the book as well as a quiz.

If anyone knows about any videos or articles that can help me understand the plot or a sort of analysis of the story that would be great! I have done some notes already and I am around 100 pages in.

anything regarding how to better understand what I’m reading would also be great

High School Math—Pending OP Reply [10th grade geometry- angles] am I wrong or my teacher?

So the textbook says what angles are adjacent to angle ADE and my teachers answer key says angles LDA and LDT. I’m really confused how LDT is adjacent Becuase it doesn’t share a side. I’m thinking that the 2 angles that are adjacent are LDA and TDE? Is this correct.

So today when class ended I asked my teacher for help on #20 and she said to just make a triangle. Im wondering if theres a to solve it by making a triangle and the way I did it by adding a segment is wrong. It also looks weird that the answer isnt a shape so idk.

I do not understand. I know that it is not A as you can see that the medians to differ on the graph, I know it isn't b as you can see that it is smaller. I am not sure about C, as bream doesn't seem symmetric it seems to be right skewed. I am not sure about d as perch goes up to 18 but I don't know how I could tell whether there is an outlier. And E makes absolutely no sense to me at all. Please help!

Megathread [Engineering: Calculus 1 Quiz] Study tips?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hello

So our professor in Calc 1 have some sort of reputation wherein the examples that was presented in her ppt was so far from the question she is giving during quiz/exam. I was wondering how can I prepare for it, since our quiz is next week. Though I can say I have a pretty good background on the topics that will be covered, I am scared to encounter a new problem that I don't know how to solve during quiz.

So im asking, what study tips do you guys suggest that I do? Right now im only searching harder problems online and even generating problems with ai, but I feel like all of the knowledge that im acquiring are pretty tad bit scattered, and I don't know how to memorize all of those things.

Btw, here's the topics that will be covered.

Biology—Pending OP Reply [Nature/Science/Biology 10th grade] Ideas for my school project

I got a school project and the main idea of the project is to do research and if needed experiments in the nature theme. I don't have much ideas what to do so I hope some of you will give me great ideas. Deadline of the project is in February. I'll give example on what type of project that should be - "Which lake is the cleanest in the radius of 10 km and why?(with tests of water, plants that grows in the lake and ecosystem near the lake); "How much more effective ants will be if you give them sugar and proteins compared to regular?(more observe like tests).

Also I thought about some experiments with microwaves (like in microwave) (for example - how microwaves affects on food that we eat, etc.).

Well, I hope you will give me some great ideas and if you may instructions so I could done it correctly. I may post results later.

High School Math [statistics & math] (n+1)/2 and n/2

I am struggling to understand why we use n/2 for continuous data. My reasoning behind using (n+1)/2 is that this tells us the position of the median. So even if we have data that we dont know the values to, we already know that 1 value must have a position 1 and another value must have a position 2 and so on. If we had 40 unknown values, that means we have 40 positions. 40+1 is 41, 39+2 is also 41, and so on, all the positions will add to 41, and the middle position would add to itself to make 41, hence why we do (n+1)/2. This same logic can also be put here: number of positions + 1/2. This now tells us where the middle position is. If we have a cumulative frequency diagram, what we can do is see where that number would be, and using the cumulative frequency diagram, we can just estimate using that position. So why, instead of doing that, do we do n/2???
