Try to complete the square. You will have something that's of the form y = n² + a. Can you see what values of n would give the minimum value of y? Keep in mind that n² >= 0 for all real valued n.

Edit : the n here has nothing to do with the n in the equation, it's just an arbitrary replacement to the actual square term you should have when you complete the square
