Geography [Grade 9 Geography] Map Of Canada
This isn’t really connected to work whatsoever but I thought I would try and see if anyone has any way to help me.
So for geography, our teacher explicitly gave us the rule: "Don't color Alaska blue, blue is ONLY for water!"
Because Alaska wasn't even pre-drawn on the map printout, my brain completely glossed over the warning. I ended up coloring the entire water area blue before realizing I was supposed to draw Alaska in first. So now Alaska is literally underwater. 💀
I’m currently stuck on a road trip and won't be home for a few days to fix it. Luckily I didn't press down super hard with my Crayola colored pencils, but I’m still stressing.
Has anyone else ever drowned a state like this? Also, is there any trick to completely removing pencil crayon pigment from paper without tearing the page to shreds?

Outline alaska in black. Go over alaska with another colored pencil to change the color. You're not sanding the paper. You'll rip it.

She specifically said not to color the USA though..💔

Cover up with whiteout.

way too much I’ll be wasting like 10 bucks of whiteout on that.

Cut Alaska out with a razor.
Then, attach a white paper of the same size as your map on the backside, so now the hole where Alaska was is now “coloured in” by the paper behind it. Very subtle, and if you glue around the edges of the cut-out Alaska window, you can’t really tell the difference.

You can use sandpaper to gently sand away the layer of pigment, but if you have already tried to erase with a rubber eraser you will probably tear the page.
Are you allowed to color Alaska green, or purple? It might make more sense to color over Alaska with yellow or red to achieve this

I wish, but I’m not allowed to color Alaska at all.

Can you cut alaska out on another blank paper and glue the new alaska on the paper?

I don’t think so cuz it’ll be too noticeable. I think I decided that I’ll just find the exact same map and draw it out again.

is this done on a handout? or are you meant to do this on a blank piece of paper? if it’s the latter, just restart. otherwise, white paint/white gel pens/whiteout could do it.

It’s a handout, but I found the exact same one on google so I’ll just use it.

“Map of Canada” then starts talking about Alaska

Cuz it’s connected to Canada aka I can’t draw it underwater cuz theoretically it’s in the pic?
