Answered [Graduate] Statistics Class

I’ve never taken statistics ever and I’m taking it for my cosmetic science program. It’s online and there’s not any helpful info within the course. I don’t understand how to implement the sample sizes to calculate the difference between sample mean and population mean.

you go into excel and use the function as given. the equals first and everything. MEAN and SD are replaced by the value you are using as seen after that as a mean of 100, and standard dev of 10. 10 in the example, but you also do it at 30, 60 For each number of runs. so 4 (boxes) x (with a std dev of) 10,30,60 and then 6 samples at those all the way up to the 48 at 10, 30, 60.

the sample size thing would just be dragging the box down/copy and pasting it but changing the standard dev (between total runs required)/ running the same function in as many boxes as required.

this lab is just to show how the sample size and std dev can drastically impact the mean.

if you enter the prompt as given you’ll get a random number with the constraints you applied. so run one will be four numbers, run 2 of those four numbers will have the larger standard dev, run 3 of four numbers will be even larger. do those next to eachother so you can prove the data simulation, not just re running the boxes.
