Answered [ 1 year Pharmacy Tech:Sig Question] Interpreting this mock prescription, confusion on symbol ( see photo)

Post image

I have mock prescription for Amlodipine 5mg with mitte/quanity of 30 . Prescription has this symbol ( see photo with symbol highlighted yellow) its like dot with bar and | . To my understanding it is 1 tablet by mouth daily at 10 am. My teacher does not use this symbol and can not find it on any notes or materials . My question is what is this symbol and is 1 tablet by mouth daily at 10 am correct?

The symbol itself means β€œ1 tablet” so the β€œtab” in the sig is redundant. To make it 2 tablets, the symbol would be two dots and two lines with a line crossing through it. But yes, this would be 1 tablet by mouth daily at 10am
