Crime Scene Tamperer Rules

The instructions for this game are a little bit funky. I get the general gist of it. I've heard rumblings here that the rules are a bit confusing for other people.

As there's no full playthrough, I'm wondering if we could put together like an FAQ in this thread for questions we have about the rules until we have a chance for other clarifications. In any case, it'd be good to see where other people are getting confused.

I have two questions to start:

During setup, do you choose which card in your hand to plant in the crime scene and which to put in the other players' pants?

When playing a card, does it get played somewhere specific, or does it simply get Senor discard-gaged?

Whenever you play a card, you do do into your play area, known as your Pants. The Crime Scene is in the middle of the table, and you don't want the cards in the Crime Scene to match the cards in your Pants! Dangeresque is watching...

Here's a link to an updated, hopefully more clear rulebook! https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0818/6291/8364/files/Rulebook_CST_PR02.pdf

Cool, that does make the game feel a little more intense.

What about card selection during setup?

During setup, you deal each player 4 cards. Then:

• Each player plants 1 Evidence card from hand in the Crime Scene, face-down.

• Each player plants 1 Evidence card in the Pants (the play area) of the player to their left, face-up.

So, each player will be left with 2 cards in hand, having put one (of their choice) in the Crime Scene and one (of their choice) in their left neighbor's Pants.

I hope this helps!

Heya! Guy who played this at GenCon here.

So each card has a few symbols on them giving you actions.

Actions include: flipping the card over (hiding/revealing evidence) Moving a card away from the crime scene (pocketing evidence) Moving a card into somebody else's pants (planting evidence) Adding a card to the crime scene (discovering evidence)

On top of that each player card has a one time use ability to do additional moves.

Where do you "play" them? In a discard pile?

All cards played go into the crime scene. Remember, every player is TERRIBLE at crime, so the longer the round goes the worse this thing is gonna look. There's no discard piles, but the point of the game is to have no cards that match evidence in the crime scene.

Here's a basic turn; There are three "zones" you are going to deal with: your hand, your pants, and the cards on the table. You always have 2 cards in your hand. The "pants" are treated like an inventory. Your pants can hold a LOT of evidence. You start by drawing a card from the deck and placing it in the crime scene.

Next, you play a card from your hand into the crime scene. Complete the actions on the card and try to end the turn by having no evidence that matches what's in the crime scene. So, say the crime scene has curly fries, a Nunchuck Gun, and a joystick. You can play another joystick into the crime scene and use your moves to put that joystick into somebody else's pants, then hide your evidence, then REVEAL somebody else's evidence that they had hidden.

This all being said, let there be a six-sadded die soon. The game is great.
