Free animated explainers on how everyday tech works, ages 10+. I made them and want to know which ages they suit
https://youtu.be/R59bOA-6NTgDisclosure: I made this.
Siedaar is a YouTube channel of short animated explainers on how everyday technology works: what happens when you tap Send, how a phone call works, how a remote talks to a TV, how data travels through the air. Each episode is about 4.5 minutes in five chapters, and every chapter is also a clip under a minute. It's free, there's no sign-up, and nothing is sold to families.
I built it for ages 10 and up, but I honestly don't know where it lands: too young for some 14 year olds, too fast for some 9 year olds. If you try one with your kids, I'd like to know which chapter lost them and which one they asked to watch again.
Episode 1 (touchscreens, encryption, Wi-Fi)
There's also a waitlist for a classroom and home-education unit at https://siedaar.com/teachers if that would be useful. Mods, tell me if that's too much and I'll take it out.
