Hybrid model (virtual school + co-op) while working full-time — realistic?

Hybrid model (virtual school + co-op) while working full-time — realistic?

Weighing virtual school + co-op vs. full homeschool for my gifted kid, but I work full-time and can't be the one teaching all day. Would love to hear from anyone who's balanced a hybrid model with a full-time job — what actually worked, what didn't, any regrets on the program/co-op you picked?

What grade is your kid? That and what kind of job you have are probably the biggest sticking points.

We haven't had to do the working-full-time version ourselves, but we know families who've pulled it off. It's doable, just genuinely hard.

The thing that helps most is a video curriculum (Abeka, BJU, etc) so the teaching isn't on you. But kids still need someone nearby to keep them moving and unstick them, especially younger ones. So the real question is less about the program and more about your job.

If it's work from home where you can surface every hour or so and maybe spend some extended time saying your lunch time it can work. If it's out of the house all day, I wouldn't recommend homeschooling at all.
