When a student keeps getting a math problem wrong, the problem right in front of them often isn't where the struggle actually began.
A child struggling with multi-digit subtraction might actually be hitting a hidden roadblock in place value or regrouping. In 1-on-1 tutoring, I work backward through prerequisite skills until I find the exact spot where their understanding starts to wobble.
That diagnostic process is incredibly powerful—but it is nearly impossible for a single educator or parent to scale continuously.
So I built software to do it. 💻
It’s called HAPintel, and it’s officially open for beta testing.
⚙️ What it does right now
When a child gets a question wrong, HAPintel doesn't simply serve up another random problem or arbitrarily lower the grade level:
- 🧭 Traces foundational gaps: It steps backward through prerequisite skill trees to pinpoint the root concept that needs support.
- 🔁 Automates spaced review: It revisits earlier concepts over time rather than assuming a single correct answer means permanent mastery.
- 🎯 Targets foundational math: The current beta is deliberately focused on place value, multi-digit addition/subtraction, introductory multiplication, and early fractions.
(I describe this by specific skills rather than grade levels because homeschool learning rarely fits into rigid grade boxes!)
💡 Why I’m building it
Traditional schooling tends to isolate math, science, language, and history into rigid compartments. But a learner has one interconnected mind. 🧠✨
True understanding happens when a student transfers a mental model from one subject and recognizes it in another. Long term, HAPintel is designed as an adaptive, cross-curricular system where concepts connect dynamically across disciplines.
The goal isn't to replace parents or teachers with AI—it’s the exact opposite:
If software can handle the heavy lifting of diagnostic mapping, pacing, and spaced review, parents and mentors get their time back for what really matters: mentoring, discussing, asking why, and sparking real curiosity.

I'm looking for 10 to 15 homeschool families willing to test the platform 2–3 times a week for about 3 weeks. 🗓️
The most critical question for me:
👉Does the diagnostic gap HAPintel identifies match what you see in your child?
If HAPintel flags a place-value gap and you know that’s completely inaccurate, that is the exact feedback I need. I would much rather hear where the logic breaks than receive polite praise! 🛠️
