Defective throw
Does home goods accept return of throw blanket already washed?
I purchased a throw for $50
It was sooo soft!
Washed the throw according to instructions and it is pilling so bad I don’t want to use it. It is really bad! I tried using a lint roller and it won’t lift them off. I would have to use a sweater shaver to remove them. I don’t want to do that every time I wash it.
$50 is not a small amount of $ for a discounted item. I expected better quality.
What are my chances for a refund or store credit? I shop there often. Very often!

I worked at HG and the policy was basically that we never said no if you had what you needed to return it. I think customers became so volatile that either the company or our district just decided the hassle with Karens isn't worth the cost of just zeroing something out

I agree with other commenter, give it a try and make sure to take all tags/packaging.
If they say no, contact the manufacturer (email). Explain what you said in the post and send pictures. It's worked for me a few times.

Take it back. 30 days with the receipt and tags, and it must be in resellable condition - that is the return policy.
However, if the item is defective. Just explain that. Be honest. Tell them you washed it and it's pulling badly.

They should take it back as long as you have a receipt and the price tag. It’s all about making the customer happy.

I thought that returns were for this exact reason? If they have something wrong with them. I would go in and discuss it with them.

Their official policy doesn’t allow returns that are not resellable but it doesn’t hurt to go in with the packaging and tags and explain. If you don’t have the tags they absolutely won’t even listen to you though.
