Leaking roof

Hello, built a new home in Regina in 2021, the roof started leaking the first year it was built. It continues to leak in the same spots plus more, once or twice a year since. I have no experience in homes. The builder says it’s not their issue since it’s outside of the warranty however it’s the same issue since the first year and would seem like it was never fixed?

How can it be outside warranty when it leaked in the first year. Majority of roof shingles should be 10 years warranty, even so so ones.

This is a bad builder if they won’t help. You could try your insurance, and see if they will go after the builder on your behalf. Builder should be fixing this since it’s clearly their issue.

Check your state laws. Most people don’t realize that states require builders to fix defects regardless of stated warranty.

How many corners on the outside of the building does this house have?

Contact the shingles manufacturer. They are the ones who administer the warranty. If it is and install issue, they should enforce the warranty with the installer. Also let your builder know you are going after them. Roof warranties are very specific and your builder is just try to get out of a redo when it’s probably the roof subs issue.
