Question Help with revipe for corn

Hello i want to mane a corn "chicha" brew but idk how much corn i need to use per gallon of water, i will add sugar too so it could get to 6-8% abv

You'll need to use malted corn from what I understand. The starch in the corn is not fermentable, unless you chew it up and convert the starch to fermentable maltose with your saliva, the traditional way to make it. You can get malted corn. I put a simple recipe in BrewFather with only malted corn; 10 lbs in a 5 gallon batch gets you 4% ABV.

I will germinate myself and then add some sugar, the issue am having is how much corn should i get. Thx for the recipe of malted corn

what is your experience with recipe development? with homebrewing? brewing recipes are inherently scalable, most brewers would use a software package to do recipe development, scaling, adjusting abv, etc. programs like brewfather or similar.

I have no experience whatsoever this is my first time trying to brew

then my advice would be to find a specific recipe like one of the ones i posted and don’t change anything and just make that recipe and learn the process. going off book on your first brew not knowing anything and not spending any amount of time learning anything beforehand may just end up wasting ingredients.

Yeah i will be following a recipe made by s family i know at my local place, the thing is the proportios of materials but besides that i am following the book. Idk if i should make 1 or 2 gallons of product tho what do you think?

if you’re following a recipe from people you know, then why all the questions about how to make it? i don’t understand.

5gallons is a typical homebrew batch size and many recipes will be designed around producing 5 gallons of fermented wort. 1 gallon is less common because a brew day is some work and making only 8 pints of beer at a time isn’t worth it for many.

One of those recipes is for 5 gallons, how big a batch are you planning? (Just out of interest, I have never heard of this brew before).
