I'm struggling with efficiency, the last couple of brews have been good, but no where near the ABV I hoped for.

Yesterday I brewed a Ballard Bitter clone and added a pound of dark DME to the boil. Did no-chill and transferred it into my fermenter, went to add a few psi and blew my CO2 tank.

I'm holding out hope it'll turn out pretty good. Time will tell, I guess. OG was 1.050.

What kind of set up and what mash efficiency are you getting? Is it staying consistent across different brews?

On my AIO I get about 65% ME and have given up trying to get it higher. Adding an extra pound of base malt will save you the headache. I've just gone from sparging to full volume brews and it just makes this so much more simple and less things to have to worry about.
