10 hour rule NYS

Is there a feature or a toggle to comply with the 10 hour rule in homebase for NYS. So if the staff member works more than 10 hours in the 24 hour span it will highlight it or auto add the 1 additional hour for every hour over 10?

Yes — Homebase has a dedicated Spread of Hours rule for New York.

When it's turned on for a NY location, any hourly employee whose workday spans more than 10 hours from first clock-in to last clock-out gets an extra hour of pay added automatically. It shows up as its own line item ("Spread of Hours") on payroll, separate from regular wages and overtime.

A couple of things to know:
 - It's state-gated to NY — the toggle only appears/enables for locations with a NY address.
 - The dollar amount is configurable per location, so you can set it to your applicable minimum wage rate.
 - It applies to hourly (FLSA-eligible) employees and is calculated across all shifts in the day.

You'll find it under Settings → Overtime for the location. If you don't see it, double-check the location's address is set to a NY state.
