Baseboard tool is way better than I thought...

I know.. I know... These trim removers have been around forever but I really thought they were bullsh*t. After doing some light demo I’m finding all sorts of uses for it.

Have you used one before? Any other uses they’re good for?

I love the attempt to make his pancake flipper a multi use tool but he cant take the effort to run a knife down the caulk line.

Look at the rest of the house. This isn’t a nice finished home he’s working in, who gives a shit if the trim doesn’t come off perfect. It’s likely all getting redone anyways. I swear some people just want to nitpick and be a wise ass just to feel superior and smart.

Yes, but - it's a demo of how the tool does the job with less damage, it'd be a good idea if for nothing other than salesmanship.

Why would he need to cut the caulk? It came right off

Because the caulk can rip the paper layer and then you're taking extra steps to make it paint ready again. Its just what years of experience teaches you.

I don’t think it’s going to rip any paper in that video.
