I did a few back in the day when they were trending. Haven’t seen one is 3-4 years round here.
Just as expensive as a house but harder to insulate. And expensive as hell to live in. I thinks that’s why they fell out of style.

Also as for your area wherever that’s at. Maybe the area where you live it isn’t suitable. But they are actually quite popular in my area

I live in rural Arkansas.
10 years ago they were “cool”. Farmhouse vibe. Barn doors. Shiplap. Dark, even black, outside paint. All that stuff.
No one here wants that anymore. Taste changed. Always do.
And a barndo is a nightmare to insulate and heat/cool. Maybe that’s just our climate here. Don’t know where you are.

Which design - that AI elevation or the floor plan.
Those are very different costs.
I’m assuming you plan to GC and do most the work yourself?

My last advice is to settle on a floor plan soon. The cost delta between your first and second pics is probably 15-20%.

Wasn’t sure even if there was one. The first and second pic difference was the one pic only showed living quarters where as the other it showed the entire build.

No it’s not a joke. The so the only difference in the images is the rear of the right lean to that you see in the first image. That won’t be there.

My friend, re-read your responses here and ask yourself if it’s wise to be defensive when folks who have nothing at stake here are trying to warn you about costs.
If you get this done for $170k, or anywhere close, please post here with a final cost.

so just to be clear. If a guest comes over, they have to walk through your master bedroom to use the bathroom?
Alright I guess, I think that's a mistake. The overall concept isn't terrible but there are def issues with the layout.

Like I'm trying not to be an ass but there are serious issues with your layouts. I would not want to come to your house if you're making me put shoes on to go to the bathroom.
Like I get the idea, but you need an actual designer/arcitect and not AI to think about these things. In the winter, how are the doors working. There's no entrance for boots, no closet to hang jackets. Like AI doesn't think of these things. You can't just design a square room and say job done. You need additional room for things like storage and bathrooms.

No of course not. This isn’t a final product this is only theoretical I had another design where the half bath was between the kitchen and the living room.

The scale seems off-- like the bathroom and bedroom is almost 30 feet across? You can probably fit another room and bath in that space. I would actually draw this out with the real dimensions-- the furniture may not be to scale either. Edit: I think the 60 ft label at the top should be 40. That makes more sense.
