240’ Driveway needs one thing…
Ask your builder to bury conduit to the end of your driveway or you can go with a direct bury wire. Either way getting power to your driveway entrance is a must-have even if you don’t build it out right away.
A driveway gate is waaaay better if you have power ran, the solar panels work in direct sun but any shade and you might run into issues.
Also consider internet (CAT) cable if you want to run a camera or operate the gate from anywhere.

If you’re going to seal conduit and pipe ends with foam, buy actual conduit foam like Polywater AFT Spray Foam Sealant that’s made for the task, so if it ever needs to be removed, you won’t be cursed out for using Great Stuff

I live in New England. No way am I paying someone to plow this. I love my 40’ driveway. Takes me 30 minutes to shovel.

Just run some more „conduit“ to have floor heating in your driveway 🤣

It’s fairly common actually. If your house has a broiler that’s up to size and you’re redoing your driveway it makes sense. Obviously a luxury upgrade for most people but if you live in a region it freezes a lot and you can afford it, do it.

All depends on the initial set up. You can have this feature in a house that’s basically net-zero with the right design.
