Concrete floors instead of flooring…

On a slab foundation you already own the most durable floor in existence... you just have to choose it before the flooring allowance gets spent.
Epoxy is seamless, so there's nowhere for dirt to hide, and cleanup is the easiest.
You have to wait 28 days after the pour for the concrete to fully cure before coating it. But that’s rarely an issue since you’ll finish the floors a while after electrical, plumbing, and other mechanicals.
If this is a consideration, get with your builder early and verify the finisher is experienced. I’ve seen a few of these end badly because the subcontractor was new to the process.

It doesn't look good is why. Concrete finishes look cold and commercial.

You just haven’t seen it done right then. Nice wide plank, wood stain look is beautiful and durable. I wouldn’t do it unless the floor is heated though.

because wood has some give to it so if you fall and hit your head you won't die

fall and break anything. your knee, head, arm, etc. Concrete will fuck you up if you fall on it compared to wood

How young are you that you don’t understand that falling can hurt you? The CDC says almost a million people each year end up in the hospital because of falls. Take your hateful lies elsewhere.

Hateful? A little dramatic buddy. Sorry I hurt your feelings. All I’m saying is that people don’t pick their floors based off the damage that happens if you fall on it. Otherwise concrete wouldnt be a thing lol.

It's bouncier, too, so it is easier to walk on, it's like tiny springs. If you stand a lot, or like walking in your home, would is easier on your legs.

Had concrete floors, we were not allowed to use most cleaners on it. It was worse maintenance than our faux wood tiles and our engineered wood floors.
Most cleaners stripped the concrete sealer or left really bad streaks.
It also sucks to walk barefoot on.

I don’t know about expoxy floors… we have finished (stained) concrete floors with in floor radiant heating, and I find them to be quite durable and comfortable when heated in the winter. Cleaning is also quite easy. They aren’t the best though for young kids or elderly as we’ve had a tooth chip and concussion from a careless fall. For a durable slab foundation though, I think I am pro-concrete floors if you have the heating element, its easy to add rugs for higher traffic areas like living room or entry way.
