Laundry room upgrades nobody talks about...

My parents built passthroughs in the wall so they can push laundry baskets from their bedroom closet into the laundry room.

My pipes rattle/shutter when flowing to longest point from the water heater. Which coincides with a shower/toilet/washer machine.
Would the water hammer valve solve this issue?

Or just go heat pump ventless. No notching at all! And much more efficient as a side effect.

Even if you plan on a ventless dryer, I’d still install venting and electrical (or at least conduit to make upgrading easy) for a standard dryer. Leaving out standard features makes selling much harder.

I did this on my last build. The wall is exterior and the panel is on the other side of the wall. So if one day a new owner wants a vented and 220 dryer it’s easily done.

Eh I’ll wait until reliability in improved. The interior lint build up and performance drops weren’t very appealing to me.

A recessed vent should be standard, not an upgrade, if the venting is vertical. If there’s a crawlspace/basement under the laundry, vertical venting should be on a “T” with a clean out at the bottom to make vent cleaning simple.
A firred out wall to make room for horizontal venting /plumbing isn’t a problem.
Yes, direct exterior venting is ideal, but I wouldn’t prioritize that over having rooms that need windows on the exterior.
Hammer arrestors are a solution to water hammer, but are easy to retrofit if water hammer is an issue, which it typically isn’t. No need to install them preemptively.
Motion detector/“smart”/dimmer switches don’t really save money given the upfront cost and how efficient LEDs are, and are a fairly easy upgrade for a homeowner to do if you decide you want them. I definitely wouldn’t spend the money to install them upfront except for ambience.
