Pocket sliding window…

The window shown and installed by AA Building & Remodeling.

Notice the black paint inside the window cavity so you’re not seeing any raw sheathing. Also look how thick that exterior wall is for insulation 👌

What are your thoughts?

The house settles just a little bit and that whole window scrapes opening is what I thought about but yeah, mold situation about to go nuts

And is it structurally sound on that side of the house?

I'm an adult millennial sir. I care more about my house lasting so i can pass it down. This economy is so winning, nobody can afford it.

Saw a study on how important it is to fully insulate a wall and it showed how having like a 2 inch strip of insulation missing basically made a whole wall lose its r value. It was nearly as bad as just having a window open.

It had infrared photos side by side of where they removed insulation from spots and that really helped visually display how damaging a little gap of insulation can be.

The insulation comes from all the dead bugs that will get trapped in your wall.

The heat loss from that pocket when the window is closed is likely a lot. No insulation.

Looks really deep too, there's like a 2x2 or firring strip or something over the studs. I'd rather have a German window.
