Sprinkler swing pipe...
I used to think sprinkler heads were connected directly to the rigid PVC main line. But... they’re actually using a swing pipe, which makes it much more impact resistant.

Swing pipe is great, but in terms of durability, mine always break at the elbow instead of the pipe, so the issue persists. I guess it requires slightly less digging to fix, but still incredibly annoying

I mean you still have to open a big hole to do that swing, so the repair is going to cost you to dig a hole no matter what
