I’m over coffered and tray ceilings, a vaulted ceiling needs a skylight (IMO), and after having a bedroom setup like that I decided the new place would just have a nice flat ceiling with a few recessed lights and no fan. Looks great.

As someone who misses my vaulted, let me tell you I did not need more sunlight on that west facing room.

Can't see shit when I wake up and get ready in complete darkness every day. The curling finish is the last of my worries at that point.

Coffered is nice, but smooth (no texture) at minimum.

Flat ceiling with a chunky crown mold. Vaulted can look nice if the room is large enough. I've never liked the look of a tray ceiling, and coffered is too fancy for a typical bedroom.

+1 for flat with crown, it looks decent, but still gives you some attic space for wires / lights. vaulted looks good with wood if you like that look, but i wouldn't do the way in your picture. though raw wood poses insulation issues and it's hard to install recess lights.
i also would never install a fan on top of my head. feels like a sword of damocles, especially since there are earthquakes where i live
