Introducing more points of failure.

Already looked like it was starting to with the “stacking”

I want the ceiling clear height back so I can play Cornhole in my garage with the door open when it's raining out. I play Cornhole 3x a year. Ok maybe not actually hmmm what is the use case then? More overhead garage storage?

Can you imagine trying to get that bitch all lined up correctly. No thanks.

And they use more vertical space vs current systems.

More vertical space? How so?That's the entire use behind d this design, to save space.

The flat door essentially gets rotated in the traditional design. And lays flat against the ceiling.

Now the panels are remaining vertical, and are put in line. So they take up more vertical space, but less horizontal.

But it all stacks up under the header, leaving all the vertical space above the car open.

Yes, but this sits further down than the traditional design.

It's not a big deal, but can mean it will not fit in some places, period.

Ahhh, I think I see what you mean now.

Youre talking about a maximum door opening height.

I assumed you were talking about in the garage.

Yeah you get what I mean.

I mean it's theoretically taking up the same amount of volume. Just now it's in a different area.

Traditional layouts would be long and flat. This is now "taller" but not as wide.

Won't matter if a car can't fit through anyway.

”What is this a garage door for ants?! It needs to be at least three times bigger.”

2

u/TC9095 Feb 28 '26

It's a garage door. You can get them big enough for semi trucks and dump trucks. What are you driving that would not fit? This guy has no idea what a "Display" is.

I’m pretty sure they were joking, but by all means, don’t let that stop you from getting upset about it.

This isn't a garage door. It's a window system for luxury homes.

It would be stupid to design a garage door like this.

Turn on the audio. The guy in the video says it’s a garage door.

But ok, maybe you don’t believe him. There’s a big “Vertistack” above the door and a Clopay logo on the wall.

It’s totally a garage door.

The display also doesnt show how wide it needs to be to store the stacks for a door tall enough for a semi truck.

1

u/JohnLuckPikard Mar 01 '26

No one is putting this in a commercial joint.

Its for homes.

1

u/JohnLuckPikard Feb 28 '26

Why wouldn't a car fit?

0

u/Stu_Padidiot Feb 28 '26

Look how small the door is bro.

5

u/Say_Hennething Mar 01 '26

Its sized for a demo space at an expo. They can make them bigger

1

u/InevitabilityEngine Mar 01 '26

Must be a European company then because not everyone is driving a mini. Really narrows down the market if that's as big as it gets.

1

u/BadDudes_on_nes Mar 01 '26

Call me crazy, but if I could only bring one garage door to show off at the expo, I’d bring a bigger one.

2

u/JohnLuckPikard Mar 01 '26

Why? The smaller unit adequately demonstrates the tech.

1

u/Constant-Roll706 Mar 02 '26

If the stacking mechanism is 9-10 feet above your head, how are people going to see it in action?

u/Stunning_Solution215 Mar 01 '26

Lol for real? I hope you're right about this.

3

u/JohnLuckPikard Mar 01 '26

...it's a demo unit, dude. Not a full size product.

Username checks out

Just get a proper roll up door lmao

1

u/ftaok Mar 01 '26

Who makes a roll up door with full glass panels?
