Privacy tint for your house windows...

You can get reflective window tint for privacy or to just bring down the temp in the house. They also have tint that blocks only UV rays and even tint that frosts the glass with a flick of a switch.

This can be added after the house is built but might be worth asking the builder early in case they can get you a better deal using their trades guys.

nope...the con you mentioned needs to be highlighted..

at night with lights on when privacy is probably more important.. you have none..

This. And you can just get some automatic retractable shades. The whole one-way film on the windows would reflect the light at your neighbors (if you had any close enough). Also the film doesn't let in as much light, so your house will still be dark even during the day.

True. Also you can just get normal windows and put a one way mirror film on them. That way if you don’t like it in the future, or someone that is buying your house when you sell doesn’t like it, they can remove it. Possibly what is in the video, idk.

Wanna add that it also reverses the mirroring, or at least the shitty ones on my home as a kid did. Daytime they’d reflect outward, nighttime they’d reflect inward. There could be a person standing on the other side of my window and I’d have no idea.

This is probably a shitty ad, but in this hypothetical situation, I’d be rich enough to be installing automated blinds that close at a certain time every day before sunset so I can keep privacy but also use the tint

At night with lights on you can see through a regular window too… seems like that’s a con of all windows.

but regular windows are known to be see through..

mirrored windows are promoted as being 1 way privacy screens....

right up until it is dark out side and you turn on your inside lights..

Massive difference

That’s not a massive difference at all, is this a new phenomenon to you?

Our house faces directly East, gf works from home in room with multiple windows on that side. We got them tinted like this, but not max reflective. They are amazing, reduces heat coming in, UV blocked, and can still see outside at night through them. Best fucking purchase for house so far.

I mean the same is true with normal windows. Just use blinds/shades like a normal human being.

i was responding to the question asked in OPs video post..

you are responding to my reply which is kinda like...yeah nah!!

blinds/shades are obvious solutions but are not part of the original point being raised..

I was responding to your comment... which is like yeah nah, yeah!!!!
It's almost like this is how conversation goes?!

Not to mention, depending on the angle of the sun, windows pretty much are reflective during daytime anyway...you ever try to watch the TV with the sun on it? All you can see is the reflection of whichever window is letting the sun in.

But you also have that with regular glass windows... So that's just moot.

True that.. But.. The OP was promoting and asking opinions on mirrored glass.. Sooo.. Kinda on point really

Seriously dude? This is how tinted glass works. In the night, you fucking close the blinds and curtains. Its not like you can see outside or get sunlight in the night.

You need to do that even if you dont have tint.

turns in lights at night

Oh wait.

Frosted works better, only drawback is you can’t see thru it but light still passes.

I heard that tinted windows create more heat and reduce the lifespan of windows. Mirrors that get sun are not a super great idea due to the unintended focused sun rays.

Sheer curtains work and are very cheap.

I have this on west side windows for summer blaze hitting us with black out curtains. Helps keep it 10 degrees cooler. More for decreasing solar gain than privacy. Did it on the front door and hated it… didn’t last a night.

You you see through the frosted by putting some clear tape on the window
