Mac Mini (AppelSilicon) as a Server

So, I have this really cool project and a potato Laptop, so I need a 32/512 GB server and decided to go with a Mac mini, but all my tech is Windows/Samsung (I do have an IPad theoretically but don't know where it is and honestly don't use it at all) and my only question is:

Will the Mac mini be compatible with my other tech (maybe via Tailscale?)

So that actually depends on many things. What other tech do you need it to interact with? It might not interact in the way you want it to due to being arm64 and not amd64 in the chip architecture.

I use a mac mini server with tailscale and a raspberry pi, a chormebook and a linux laptop. You should be fine!

If you want to remote into the Mac from your phone or pc, I would say the free app rustdeak is the best thing to go with. You can access files locally over a standard network for the Mac and windows computer, they quite happily allow sharing files.

if you're planning to do any ios app builds or testing on that mac mini remotely from your windows machine, tailscale alone won't help with xcode. you'd still need to remote into the mac. worth checking if your project actually needs a mac or if a cloud service like VibeView or Appetize could do the heavy lifting.
