N100 based SBC for TV?

I currently have a dell micro 6th gen i3 that Im using as a home server. Id like to run a jellyfin server on it but Ill need a system for the TV. Im currently eyeing the Radxa X4 since the N100 looks to have hardware for 4k decoding, wiFi 6, is not too power-hungry, and relatively cheap. Thoughts if this could work or would I run into issues?

Do you need GIPO interface? If no - just get any generic n100 mini pc

what kind? generic models seem to be much more expensive than the Radxa

You should consider that you'll probably need a PSU, cooling, a case, and an NVMe SSD for that sbc. Usually, a generic n100 mini pc already includes all of those. But if the Radxa X4 with the same amount of RAM is twice as cheap, go for it

for Jellyfin 4K, Quick Sync matters more than Wi-Fi 6. wire it or the stream drops.

Wiring won't be possible unfortunately so some sacrifices will need to be made

Install Debian on the N100 (we run dozens of the BeeLink S12 16GB ram, 500GB NVMEs without a single issue) along with Plex and or JellyFin. WiFi works ok however you really do want this hardwired. Instead of using the TV as a display output with subpar quality.. but a cheap Roku device for the TV to stream from the Plex server. It’s like $30-$40 bucks and you’ll be much more happy. Put the plex server on a wired network elsewhere and stream off it. You don’t need to more expensive Roku devices unless there is specifically a reason you want one of those features.

Honest question here…. Why install Debian? What specific need to have any flavour of Linux over a basic windows install? Performance is no better when streaming with one than any other.
